makes sense. i have not really emphasized in price compared to performance or value altogether. i had some value coolers in the line up thou. the xigmatek loki would be my favorite value cooler.

if you have anything particular in mind let me know and i will try to get my hands on it.

right now i have the gelid coming next and the a new akasa and the antec 920 lined up

the sunbeam twister 120 is also a real bargain for under $40 dollars imo

I thought he had a review of the 212 + on his site, but i don't see it.

Overclock.net has a 212+ owners club that will have a lot of info on it though.
http://www.overclock.net/air-cooling/632591-cooler-master-hype...-club.html

My 2600k @4.2 case fan speeds at 25% and playing BC2 my temps are 61,64,61,58 (AS5). The stock fan and no OC i was getting almost 90C with stock thermal paste.
Room temps around 70F

The overclock site on page 278 shows a unique way of applying thermal paste where people are getting even lower temps.

Page 277 a guy says :
My ambient temp is 25C.(77F)
Core Temp showed idle around 32-33C.
I'm about 7 minutes into Prime95 blend and temps are 50/45/51/50.

This to me doesn't seem possible.

EDIT:
Here is my post about it on these forums:

thanks micro and GtoX the 212+ would be a better choice. i have not yet have the opportunity to review it but who knows it might still come my way.

the 212+ would be slightly more expensive
http://www.webhallen.com/hardvara/102336-cooler_master_cpu-kyl...1155-am2-3

another good cooler would be the AC Freezer 13, also not reviewed yet but i know it's decent
http://www.webhallen.com/hardvara/130634-arctic_cooling_freeze...-1156-1366

if that is the absolute max of the budget then i would rather go with the zalman cnps7000.
http://www.webhallen.com/hardvara/122616-zalman_cnps7000c-cu_l...et_775-am2

a cooler i haven't seen on that site is the Sunbeam Twister 120 and the Xigmatek LOKI or the Xigmatek AEGIR. all three perform well and should be in your budget or close to it.

i have just reviewed the Gelid Tranquillo Rev2 and it is a nice and good cooler. not very expensive and improves performance almost dynamically with fan performance.
http://www.codisha.com/reviews/ac/gelid_tranquillo_v2/review_g..._v2_p1.htm

i have the Akasa Venom Voodoo coming up and the Antec Kuehler H2O 920.
Then hopefully when i have time i will re-review the Corsair H50.

Thanks, i enjoy reading/browsing your reviews and seeing the well taken pictures.

Something i would enjoy would be to see your setup for lighting and back drop. It may make a fun article to add to your site. With the quality of the pics, i assume that you are using lightboxes?

i like that idea and thanks. i was planning something like and including a little bit more about how i test and the process and work involved. i hope to get it out soon but i barely started on it. hopefully 2012 will give me a little more time to do it.

.
Thanks for another review. I thought some of the design ideas in the Gemini Rev2 were interesting, but the implementation may be less than optimal (e.g. the "dimpling" is a regular pattern, and while it will decrease undesirable laminar flow, may be inferior to random patterning with variable sized "dimples").

Was also concerned about the huge block in which the heat-pipes are set...I'd think there could be considerably more latency in heat xfer than with direct-coupled heat-pipes...while steady-state temps might be similar, a cooler's ability to quickly xfer sudden spikes in heat is an interesting question. It could be instructive to have some temp v. time chart comparisons between coolers to see which has the best dT/dt (T=temp, t=time). For example, I'd think one would want the slowest dT/dt core temp rise as the CPU goes from Idle to MaxLoad and the fastest dT/dt core temp reduction as the CPU goes from MaxLoad to Idle.

i agree, the base is pretty thick. i think they would have done better making this an HDT cooler. the performance was pretty decent but the performance gain with increased airflow somewhat confirms both our observations.

i like the idea of a comparison chart of the delta T results. i think i will work on that.
if my JS skills would be better i might even do something like a selectable overlay option
