Still not the absolute best price seen for 1600s, but still excellent, and no hassle with mail-in rebates. And (drum roll) these are "Limited Edition" modules (for those who care) and include some sort of free game.

Heatsinks are a bit more than just a "rectangular plate" but is less than a "sawtooth" type of design. However, the heatsinks on these RAM also have paper labels on BOTH sides of module. How much more that degrades heat dissipation is an unknown, but it will affect it to some degree.

A bit less than 4 days (includes 2 days of weekend)

I ordered the GSkill 2x4GB deal as I pointed out in

20110818 18:00 PDT Order Date (Thursday Night)
20110820 01:11 PDT Saturday morning arrived at the local DHL "Distribution Terminal"
20110822 13:00 PDT RECEIVED Date via USPS (Monday Afternoon)

Interesting that even as of the time of this post (20110822 20:00 PDT) the online tracking shows my order is STILL at the local distribution center pending transfer to USPS.

I'll update this post with installation and burn-in experience/quality later.

Another DDR3-1333 deal that's good enough to use them as sacrificial test RAM if needed (e.g. in an "unknown" status motherboard) to test 4GB module viability.

Remember that memtest86+ leaves a very small portion of the first RAM module untested. It's needed to run the program.
So, to do an absolutely thorough test on both modules, you have to swap the RAM module slots at some point.

If you are going to run multiple RAM modules together then they must be tested together. If you are going to run them independently in separate systems then it's OK to test them one at a time.

WARNING! in my opinion tigerdirect.com is UNCLEAR on this whole deal. It LOOKS like the order consists of TWO different RAM packages, AND you must submit TWO DIFFERENT REBATES to get this price. SO BE ADVISED I'm just including this deal in this thread for informational purposes.

$3.40/GB (including estimated $5 US shipping)
16GB DDR3-1333MHz CAS9 1.5V 4x4GB

$55=$90-$20rebate1-$20rebate2+$5shipping
Not memory I'd normally list here as it's 1333MHz, but it's a very low price after the rebate.
I have NO idea how reliable is rebate processing for Kingston memory

Just a heads up most 16GB (4GB x 4) DDR3-1600 setups costs as little as $100 or less. This goes for Corsair, GSkill and so on.

The DDR3-1866 at 16GB setups are about $50 more than the DDR3-1600 setups. It's a great time to buy some nice RAM. Picked up a pack of GSkill RipJaw DDR3-1866 - 16GB kit for $149 :)

About 2 years ago, this same setup would have costs me approx: $400 or more 8)

Yup!...it just keeps going down, down, down...

DDR3-1600 1.65V RAM is now frequently available at $50/8GB ($6.25/GB) so I've been limiting my newer entries in this thread only when I see DDR3-1600 RAM in the ~$5/GB range...and/or especially when it's low-price high-performance RAM that's rated at 1.5volt or lower (lower voltage can help reduce both power and temperature).

And, DDR3-1866 is now quite frequently available at $9 to $10/GB.
Again here I've been recently only posting in this thread when I see the RAM at exceptional prices, like in my earlier post on DDR3-1866 http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/77413/?o=40#593192
where it was $7.50/GB (or $120 for 16GB)

I think this is the lowest I've ever seen DDR3-1600 CAS9 1.5V RAM...and it's Corsair! It's at the same price/GB as what I consider sacrificial "test" RAM. I of course bought this at a much higher price just months ago...so I'm bummed...however, I think Corsair RAM is solid. I've had nothing but good experiences with Corsair RAM.
