Really. I currently run dual-monitors, two LCD-LED 23" Asus monitors to be exact. I overall think they're great, but I've been hearing about how 120hz makes gaming and even general use so much better than current 60hz monitors. Any game I play competitively, I HAVE TO set the resolution to 1280x1024 in order to achieve a measly 75hz. Even though 75 isn't much more than 60, the difference is very noticable. I of course play single player games at 1920x1080@60hz, but when it comes to being the best, nothing less that 75hz will do. So, this leads me to the conclusion of buying a 120hz monitor.

I know a lot of hardcore gamers that still use 120hz-175hz CRTs just to game, because the response and smoothness is just that much better, which in turn makes you a better player. I'm my experience it can be a huge factor on how well you can play.

Here is a list of the ones I've been looking at:

Alienware OptX AW2310
Asus VG236HE (No 3D Vision Kit)
Acer GD235HZbid
Benq LX2410

Basically these are the most practical price/performance wise. My friend just bought a VG236HE and he loves it. I am thinking that is my best option, as Asus has been great in every product I've ever used by them. I will be selling one of my current monitors as using this as a replacement(or should I keep all 3?!? MUAHHA, jk). Does anyone have any experience with 120hz monitors here?

There is definately a noticable difference, and maybe a slight advantage, but IMO your reasoning for wanting one is kinda lame (unless you are admitting that you are a nub compared to your opponents... wasn't sure how to desipher).

If you already pwn then why get one?

OR

If you're a nubby and have the money and want one, then get one. x)

I pwn all day with my 23" LCD 1920x1080@60Hz.

Saw my friends monitor tonight and it's f**king amazing. The conclusion is that you are all noob gamers, therefore I am ordering the monitor. This was written when I was pretty much written off.
