sup guys, sorry for hijacking the thread a bit, was wondering if my card is broken too? i was running minecraft, the game, where suddenly the mouse gets all pixelated around it, nothing else though, and the comptuer freezes for 10 seconds at a time every 5 seconds. basically i can move the mouse for 5 seconds until it freezes for 15 seconds. i barely managed to restart the computer the normal way, went into bios and tried optimal settings as i thought something could be wrong. only thing i changed was
-disable full screen logo
-start from pci-x port
-set ram to ddr800.

started up the computer, and right after windows logo showed me the welcome screen, the computer restarted again. started up windows the normal way, and now here i am typin to u guys..

now im on the computer again, no problems so far, and im running furmark at the moment.. i use evga precision 2.0.2 for overclocking to 700mhz, default voltages, and automatic fan graph that ive tweaked a little bit. 69c max on load for my gpu, lovin it!

other problems ive noticed are that transferring data to certain harddrives through the usb ports in the back causes it to freeze after 20 seconds of transferring. doesnt happen if i use the front usb ports. like i said, only certain harddrives using generic usb HDD cases.

PC specs:

-DFI lanparty JR P45-T2R mobo, with p45 chipset (havent upgraded bios since i got the mobo)
-e7400 @ 2.8ghz stock
-2x2gb ram pc6400 kingston, 2x1gb hynix pc6400 ram, total = 6 gb.
-1x320gb system OS seagate brand new, 2x500gb WD, 1x640gb WD, 1x750gb seagate
-Zotac GTX470 @ 700mhz core linked. no gpu voltage increase. driver: 266.58
-600watts OCZ mod xtreem pro, modular PSU

chassi - In-win dragon slayer, lots of fans, mATX, and it can fit a ati 6990 if i wanted to!

now, u people may say that the overclock is bad on the gpu? on my previous p31 mobo with q6600. well same specs as the computer in my sig below, but switch the 4850 for a gtx470. i could play hours on end without any problems. (had the gpu now for maybe 3 months?)
havent noticed any other issues since i transferred the gpu to this inwin case.
otherwise, temps on this computer are 40c-45c on the e7400, GTX470 is 39 degrees idle, and 69c TOPS on load.. a few centigrades less if i keep the window open.
so temps arent a probem..

may i note i installed the 470 3 weeks ago, the win 7 installation i did at the time used the 4850. removed the drivers using uninstall, then driver sweeper, then installed the driver for the 470.

first time i ever got this issue, but it scared the crap outta me. i just really hope its not the graphic card..

im thinkin its these possibilitieS:
-ram memory because im mixing hynix and kingston. havent had any problems related to memory though, as far as i can tell
-GPU crappin out on me?
-windows 7 installation since ive switched from ati to nvidia.
-motherboard/ bios outdated? i havent updated my bios since i built the pc.

earlier i wrote about the weird restart i got after resetting bios. this is the error report windows gave me:

EDIT: just ran furmark for like 10 min on Burn in mode, didnt show any artifacts, temps reached around 82c on 80% fan speed.. gonna give fallout 3 new vegas a go...

hmm maybe.. i dont know if i trust installing service pack 1 on my computer. I've had a lot of friends with failed installations of SP1 messing up their whole OS install..

hey guys, i had another issue last night..
i was playin a bit of crysis single player, when suddenly the sound froze, then the game froze when i tried to quit the application, so tried ctrl + shift + esc. windows froze, so i shut off the computer by holding the button in.

turned it on, and the computer would just be really slow at posting the harddrives. then nothing would happen.
took out some ram since i have 2x2gb pc6400 and 2x1gb pc5300.
it would post once into windows, then hang in windows after like 3 min.
took out a few harddrives, then eventually pulled the IDE dvd burner. now computer has booted and hasnt frozen since. its been on the whole night.
is this still an issue related to the gpu switch i did as u can read on the earlier post on this thread?

this pops up frequently in the event viewer:
\??\C:\Windows\system32\drivers\zntport.sys has been blocked from loading due to incompatibility with this system. Please contact your software vendor for a compatible version of the driver.

this one pops up right afterwards:
The NTPort Library Driver service failed to start due to the following error:
This driver has been blocked from loading

but why would i have such a hard time posting the computer?
theres been a issue earlier where my 750gb harddrive would periodically not show up in windows and ive had to restart the computer in order to get it to show again.

i cant remember if this always showed, but after posting, when still in black and white text, it now says "backup from cmos.... ok!"

this motherboard has dual bios...

any thoughts?

I'm gonna sound like a broken record here, as this is the reason I give for 90% of issues (and usually I'm right!).

Seems like your PSU is on its way out.

Especially as its intermittent, and then sort of resolves as you remove hardware etc

hmm.. but its a pretty decent 600 watt powersupply? havent had any problems now these past few days. crap, gotta remember where my reciept is for the psu, but somehow i dont really think its the PSU.

since the computer would start, but not go past the "backup from cmos... ok!" before the windows logo appeared, i started thinking about whether my bios needs an update or not...

problem is, dfi boards seem to have 3 different ways to update bios, but they all confuse me.
i liked ASUS or gigabytes version where ud just press del and go into the update bios section from there and use a usb stick.
