Firs off, it is malware, rather then a virus.

This program may be able to fix it. It is the best program i have ever used to remove malware.Even the free version is great.

You may have to boot into safe mode to use this program at this point. This is often done by pressing F8 while booting. If you can, when you go to shut down your pc, you may have an option to boot into safe mode.

You may have to google the name of the program it tells you to buy and some of the termanology they use for an exact step by step fix though i rarely find this to work.

The odds are is that you will have to format your HDD (hard drive) and reinstall windows.

To prevent this from happening in the future, you may need a better antivirus/maleware blocker.
I find nortons and macgafee are about the worst programs out there. I personally use avast.
Some programs tell you that the site may contain malware before it even opens the page, to prevent you from getting malware.

Also if you are using IE (internet explorer), yo are asking for malware. Use Firefox, chrome or opera to help avoid malware. 9/10 if you get malware, it will be while using IE.
I use firefox with plug-ins such as "addblock plus".

Let us know how it turns out for you.

Have you tried going into safe mode? If not, tap F8 as your computer boots up and choose 'Safe Mode'. In this mode, the virus shouldn't start up so you should be able to do a proper virus scan and hopefully get rid of it. If you know what I'm talking about, you may want go through the startup programs in the registry to try and disable it yourself. And you should try to do a system restore while in safe mode, too.

nowadays there are thousand of anti-virus to detect virus. so install the anti-virus like nod 32 and Spy-ware which helps to protect your computer from virus and try to scan all the new software or anything else. lastly if the anti-virus doesn't show any effect than call the mercantile for help.
