Hey ya'll

Ok.... got a quirkie question for ya'll

Recently I purchased a MS LifeCam Studio - http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/digitalcommunication/Product...px?pid=021

Works like it should. Tried it out with Skype and it works great....

BUT......

When I play BFBC2.... it seems to turn on. i.e. the blue light on top of the cam comes on. When this blue light comes on, it means that the cam is activated...Needless to say, this unnerves me... so i put the lens cover on it to block any potential view. The wierd part is that it only comes on when you join a server i.e. join in on a game.... as soon as you exit and you are sitting there at the games menue.... the blue light is off. But as soon as you click on the join button to start the game, the light comes back on........ So far, this is the only application that does this that I have run across...

What's the deal?????

TAM !!!! U whatch'in me you little buggar ?????

Wow, your doing this through BC2?

I cant even get the squad mic to work.
Thus, this may be part of the problem.

Lol G.G. that would be the first I've read something like that happening.

Dood you should get on Steam and add us you loon! It's a bitch to try and find you playing BadCompany2 since the game doesn't have Pm's or any of that crap.

I would say the cam might be the default mic, so when the game loads up it goes active in case you wanna talk using the VOIP.

Go into setting and see what is set as default mic, or into steam and set a different cam.

Plug,

You are absolutely correct....... I went into recording properties and low&behold..... the LifeCam webcam is set as the default mic since it is the only mic available. I have both a usb and analog standalone mic but they are not attached. So since the LifeCam has a mic available to the OS, it set it as the default mic. And hence the web cam turns on when I join the game and turns off when I exit.

Now the trick is to see if this webcam mic will be any different than the standalone mics... I too have had no luck getting the mics to work within BFBC2.

I still think TAM is watching me........

Just doing my job ma'am.....no fee involved this time!

Sometimes when I am talking on Teamspeak with Dubs playing VIETNAM he tells me I am a little bit echo'ey of sorts. Its the Logitech Cam I have opening the mic when I game, so its repeating what I say hence the echo. I use a Sennheiser headset and its the business so I just disable the Cam and its fine.

Are you sure you're not playing Boy Friends Big Chickens 2? That game needs web cam.

hey all........ for the first time since I have had BFBC2..... My mic FINALLY works..... I was able to chat back and forth with someone in the squad and he said I came in loud and clear... wow.... It finally worked.... not sure what did the trick for me.. I have tried analog and usb standalone mic but never worked... BUT..... the one thing I did this time which I dont remember doing before is the use of the left ALT key..... I cant recall if I had tried this before with the other mics... So at this point, I am not sure if it was the mic in my new webcam or the use of the Left ALT key that did the trick..... So try using the Left Alt key and see if that works for you.... or maybe it has something to do with the use of MS LifeCam Studio webcam..... all i know is that it started working... lol
