I've been enjoying my Sapphire Radeon HD 6970 2GB GDDR5 for a while now. Got it for a great price several months ago on Newegg...

Just wondering, what do most recommend, I plan on going Crossfire in the near future and don't know if I should get another HD 6970 or the better priced HD 6950?

Or forget about CrossfireX and stick with what I have right now which I am quite happy with anyway........................

Thanks,

If going CrissFire, I'd say get another HD6970 - I just never liked the idea of mixing cards, you won't be getting the most out of the 6970.

However, it would also really depend on what resolution you play, with what IQ, and if performance isn't enough for you right now?

My max Res on my LED is 1920 x 1080p. I can play most games such as L4D1 on MAX settings and L4D2 on almost max settings. Crisys still seems to suck performance into oblivion as useuall...

Thanks for the info, I will perhaps either buy another HD 6970 when the time and price is right... I skipped the HD 5800 series because my late HD 4870's in Crossfire did the job quite nice for an awesome price. I may do the same with a pair of HD 6970's and skip the HD 7800 series...

Whoa, somethings wrong. You should easily be able to max out LFD2 at 19x10. I could max it no problem with my GTX460 (haven't actually played it with my 570 yet).

I think its a TWIMTBP title, but the 6970 should easily run it.

Well you'll have to see what sort of performance will be like on the 7xxx series before you decide, but HD 970 crossfire is a very powerful set up.

Yeah, something wrong there if you cannot max out the L4D series....its not even that demanding TBH....

I can hammer it with my 5970 (I know its not the same thing lol)

If you are pleased with the realm of Crossfire and had not had any issues implementing it.... I say go the route of getting another HD6970 and skip the 7xxx series.... But dont get that 6950 for a crossfire setup and drag your 6970 down...... that would be a mess..
