Hello Everybody,

Son of a friend got a Toshiba Satellite Pro L670 few months ago, let me say this laptop is a great collection of problems.

First the LVDS cable connecting motherboard and LCD developed a fault, in one certain position the LCD works, however I managed to rectify it.

Then laptop suddenly turned off while running. Now when I push the power button, the power indicator LED turns on for less than a second and then turns off.

I have tried isolating each and everything, like HDD, DVD drive, RAM, Fan, LCD, Wi-Fi module even I had removed the CPU chip but it remains same.

Apparently it seems that there is some kind of overload/short circuit on the motherboard which the power circuit immediately detects and turns off.

Any advice ? I can do SMT re-work if required. Unfortunately motherboard is not available in my country and it costs a lot to buy from abroad and import it.

Thanks in advance

Ijaz
