HP Laserjet 4050 and Windows 7

Hey guys,
Currently, I'm trying to install an older printer on Windows 7 for my company. We bought new Dells with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and have the printer set up on the network. When installing, I use the drivers from the HP web site and finally got it to work on my machine. It finds the printer, asks for the driver, I direct it to the driver, it recognizes it (doesn't give an error about not being compatible), then when I hit next it shows the "Installing Printer" window with the status bar going across. The problem is, it took over 40 minutes to install it. I have many more PCs with same set up to install the printer on. Is there a fix for this or is it just because the printer is older that it is glitchy when it installs on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit? I'm usually pretty good at troubleshooting these kinds of issues but I can't seem to figure out why it takes 40 min once getting to the "Installing Printer" screen.
