Damn I want to play it, but I honestly want a gpu upgrade to play this game fully and don't have the cash for that lol and I want a new guitar too :(

And the game is $60 for PC which I refuse to pay! Hmm, maybe I'll just have to adapt to the current time or else knowing EA I'll be waiting another year before they lower the price on this game.

Is it just me or same as with Bad Company 2, BF3 screenshots all look good, but playing the game on max gfx doesn't look anywhere near the graphics..

by the way.... does this thing uses the same account and sign-in as I use in BFBC2? Or is it that you have to create a new one and start over...

G.G. as far as I know you need to download Origin and what not but I assume you can log in with your Bad Company 2 info. Also, comment on the sound and graphics once you install the game. I'm curious on everyone's opinion.

Also, are you secretly rich and have a virtual reality dome?

>> Re: How Battlefield 3 should be played
Ok...

I have BF3 loaded on my system for the past few days...

I tell ya... it will be sum'in to get use to.. it is much more graphical than previous generations... Alot more realistic. for example, jets/tanks/heli..... all have that real look to them. kinda about 90% torwards the real look. The ground, trees, and so forth is the same way. To me, it makes BFBC looks cartoonie... AND it makes BF2 really look flat and more so like cartoonie.

Some of the movement is something to get use to as they are trying to make it more realistic... for example.... when prone or crouch position, getting upright is a bit different than before. The previous game, when you go from this position to say running, your view of the horizon stays the same with the exception that it just goes up in motion... BUT... with this version of the game, the same position movement will cause the view of the horizon to change to the view of the ground then back up to the horizon..... at first it kinda gives a laggy feeling because you cant just start running. There is a delay from the fore mentioned position to a sprint... But on the other hand, I guess they are trying to make this particular movement as realistic as possible since in real life if you were in those position and you get up to start forward motion, you will have the tendicies to lean forward down then back up.... just something to get use to that all..

Overall wise, I really like this version of the series.. It is much harder to play but it is challenging. It really does alters the way you play this type of game compared to previous versions.

Now for something of a nice surprise that I did tonight....

I was flying a F-18 Hornet..... Buzzing around getting practice flying (not very good of a flyer but getting much better). I got hit by a rocket.... Before the plane exploded, I nose up the jet and hauled ass straight up..... just before the plane exploded, I bailed out... deploy my chute... then I noticed, WOW.......... I'm like way way way up in the air... I mean,,, I am so way up that I was way above all the jets flying.. It took one heck of a time getting down ............. BUT................. on the way down... (at the time i was an engineer), I wondered if my Stinger (rocket) would work while I was chut'n down... so I mounted up the Stinger... As a Russian jet was going by... the Stinger would actually light up and put a lock on the jet... I launched the rocket. I watched the rocket chase down the Russian plane.... then to my surprise ..... I ACTUALLY BLEW UP the Russian plane out of the air while I was parachuting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL LOL LOL ..... that was so cool ahahahahah... Wow... Had to share that with you..

Now that little piece of move fits perfectly with the title of this thread. ahahahhaha

Oh by the way... with my system, Q9550, 4GB mem, HD4870 (all stock settings), with BF graphic setting on medium..... FRAPs says that I am running between 40~55fps.... guess that's ok... :/

Had another cool moment yesterday in BF3.

I was flying around again... got gunned down by an enemy plane.... I nosed up and hit the afterburners..... ejected just before the plane about to blow.... as I was parachuting down... I was thinking, hey..... maybe I can do that shoot a jet out the sky with a Stinger trick as you parachute down thingie as I did before stuff.... so I got out my rocket.. and it was like OH Darn !!!! I had the wrong rocket type on me.. for this round, instead of carrying the Stinger rocket, I had the regular none guided type ... the one that you would use on the ground against tanks, jeeps, enemy, whatever...... So guess I cant do that trick.. BUT as I was coming down, I decided to guide myself over to one of the enemy way points.... the closer I was coming down to the flag........ I noticed a couple of enemies had spawned and running around the flag area... SO..... I was able to guided myself to one of the enemy... I landed literally right next to him and slightly back of him on his right side. We are talking about two feet or less... As my feet touched the ground, I did a melee on him i.e. knifed..... AHAHAHAHAH .... that was cool.... but unfortunately, the other enemy must have seen me that he was able to tag me just after my tag.... hehehehe..

Let's see, it took me 5 minutes to hate that game. Right at the beginning when the squad hits the parking lot and the sniper hits your buddy. I drag him inside then when the cinematic crap is over, I move into the parking lot and take out the guy with the RPG on the right. I move against the right wall and take it to the next corner. Guys are coming out of this doorway and I'm pop goes the weaseling them. Then I see an opening in the wall and move through it after clearing behind with a grenade. I'm behind it shooting guys and I die for being out of the combat area? Hello! I was killing people! This isn't how you want me to play it? It's your slide projecter so you get to arrange the order of my slides? F You! I'm gonna go play COD MW3 now and see if they did any better, or if I have to play their moves there too. STUPID!

EDIT: NICE SIMULATOR!

I disagree with their algorithm assumptions. In a real life combat area, there would be extremely few situations in which I would look down as I'm getting up. Otherwise makes it easier to get dead and put your buddies at risk. As you change your aspect you have to establish and maintain awareness of possible threats to your new (and in this case more exposed) position before, during, and after you move.

Well now that I've gotten into it a bit more, I hate it even more. The game might as well be you on a train shooting out the window at passing levels. That's how it feels to me. You can't deviate from their plan. There is no freedom at all. You go where they want you to go and that's it. Oh ya, I would have liked to have actually flown the jet rather than just sitting in the back shooting and bombing. All this is on single player by the way.

Hippy you're right about the singleplayer and I read many complains about that and the reviews state it out too. The said that the singleplayer felt like something they rushed or put together in a very short amount of time, since you didn't get to test out the vehicles of the game and the missions were extremely linear.

One good thing I'll say about it...I've been having trouble getting my pain killers lately, so i can use the game to help me get to sleep. Still the game is way better than Skyrim. What a POS that thing is. Reminds me of POP Sands of Time how awful the mouse control was on that. Anyway, gonna go play Hunted the Demon Forge. I'm kind of getting to like that one. I like how you can switch between the two main characters who have different attributes and weapons.

Haven't bought it yet Plug, but that Origin is evil I tell you! I don't see you anymore on Steam but I just know you're playing BF3 on Origin!

I won't get this game until I upgrade to a newer video card, it may be a while.
