Just read the full review on Tom's Hardware and it sure is pretty exciting. I didn't expect such gains from Nvidia. Read the review here:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-680-review-ben...,3161.html

I think this is the right time for me to upgrade the old 8800gt, I think I hit the 4 year mark without any upgrades! I'll have to wait till more are available and the prices settle for a bit.

This new card is a great gaming card. It's quite even with the HD 7970. The interesting thing about this card IMO, the GTX680 I believe was suppose to be NV's mid range card that was to compete with the HD 6970 & HD 7870. Nvidia didn't expect this card to perform as well as it does.
Anyhow this is my take, NV should make huge profits with this card. Now all we need is a Price War and I suspect that we will get one once the dust settles and the e -tail has many AMD/NV cards in Stock...

SuperXP your right, this was supposed to be the mid range offering and the article states it. I think it'll be a couple of months until they get better yields from the fab process and we start to see the price wars. But it's pretty exciting to see that they still have an ace up their sleeve even if AMD/Ati manages to bring a card that competes with the GTX580.

Plug, wait for the GK110 chip from Nvidia, this is the card that is 50%+ FASTER than the GTX580. This is what I'm holding off for :)

....I'm back, but only as a part-timer... :)

I've got a EVGA GTX680 Superclocked. Runs Max Payne 3 maxed out flawlessly. The only limiting factor is the amount of ram (2GB) which means it can only just handle the highest level of anti-aliasing. They have 4GB cards now though. I'd probably have to upgrade my PSU if I wanted SLI in the future. Currently got a Corsair TX850 PSU mind - not sure if that would handle two 680's?
