got some spare cash and need replacemnt for my samsung syncmaster p2350

basicly I want hdmi and internal speakers plus better spec than current

23" or above

was thinking. ViewSonic VX2453mh-LED

http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?e=863778

my monitor is located 20m from my comp so internal speaker and hdmi will be great, this will help me de clutter my desk of speakers and 2.5mm cables and media selector

My friend will buy my samsung, he really needs a new montior so thats also part of my motivation.

any advice will be much apreciated

20 meters! That's quite far. In fact, ultma, you have a bit of problem there, the longest length I read that a straight HDMI v1.4 cable can run is 40 feet (~12 meters). Lower versions of HDMI standards run even shorter. You will need some kind of extender to convert the HDMI signal into Cat 5/6 cable in order to transfer the signal that far without degradation.

Please consider this, before you make the monitor purchase!

i have been running my monitor and keyboard 20m form my compu for a number of years now

my compu is extreme air cooled (loud 5 x 120mm industrial fans in the case) out in the cold laundry of my house

in fact i have two cables running to my lounge one for my tv one for my monitor :o

flat hd vision braided cable
and another dvi-d cable

I did have a couple of cables that would work on tv but not on the monitor both at 1080p so that was strange. I am cheap i would buy them of my local auction site. i think 45 for the hdmi and somethig simlar for the dvi

usb on a cat9 extension.
