I'm moving to Atlanta soon and I want to compare the local internet service providers to hopefully find the one that sucks the least. Does anyone know of a decent website do so, preferably with user reviews?

Atlanta is AT&T territories, so you're out of luck with Fios. Either them, or the other safe bet is Comcast (though their support sucks). Or if you like to go with cellular network internet, Clear is another choice. I don't know about any other ones.

I'm new here and stumbled across this one! Although I'm sure you have already signed up with a service I figured I could add my 2 cents on this topic since better late than never. Since someone stated You are in AT&T area I would find out if you have Uverse available. Its fiber optic like FIOs is but a ton cheaper and in my opinion better service than Verizon!! I've had wayyyyy too many bad experiences with Comcast so I'm not even going to begin recommending them and I have heard Clear or Clearwire (whatever it is) can be a toss up depending on the area!!!

Hope This Helps! :)

My search for a way to compare ISPs was ultimately futile because the apartment complex I moved in to is only serviced by Charter. I must say, however, that I am quite impressed. I get roughly 10% faster speeds than I pay for (33 Mbps vs 30 Mbps) and I've never had a problem with them throttling or any of the crazy things people complain about on the internet. I figured coming from a small-time ISP to one of the national giants would be terrible but these guys are far far better than my previous ISP.

Glad you found an internet provider that works for you! I moved to an apartment that only allowed Comcast and my TV would literally cut out once school was out. I'm assuming since cable is ran off of a hub then it must have been because every kid or parent was jumping online or watching TV at that time. But my main problem was with customer service, every time i would explain my issue they treated me like I was an idiot so as you can imagine I was so excited when I moved!!! Like I said though, I'm glad you found great internet for your home helps with being in a new place!!! :)
