My son hooked my laptop to our flat screen TV using the HDMI cable. The next morning I disconnected the HDMI cable and ethernet cable from my laptop. The laptop resumed Windows, accepted my password and pulled up the desktop screen briefly then the laptop powered down. Ever since I haven't been able to get the screen up, no POST, no message, nothing but black screen. I've powered the laptop off and on. I've hooked the laptop back up to the TV thinking that I could switch the screen back over to the laptop through the TV, but the TV doesn't seem to recognize that the laptop is connected. I've removed the battery, held down the power off button for 30s, plugged in the power cord, then replaced the battery - NOTHING! Please HELP!!!!

Cheri,
Many people are not aware that a laptop has three settings for the display. These settings are toggles by using a combination of keys usually the control key and one of the function keys. The toggles are: LCD only, external only or both. This may be why you not getting a display.

If this information was helpful, Please let us know so others may find this helpful as well. Thanks

Best of luck, LTW
