I have a hp probook 4525s my processor is a AMD Athlon II P360 Dual-Core Processor and Max TDP of 25W. I want to upgrade my processor to AMD laptop processor Phenom II Quad-Core Mobile X920 Black Edition which is 45W . I know it has the same Socket and pin number, but I want to know if the processor will work on my laptop and if it does will my processor run too hot?

Hello Sergio,

I really cannot answer your question (sorry about taking your time for nothing)... but I wonder, it is possible to change the cpu in your laptop motherboard? is it not fixed into it?

Good luck with your endeavor,

Hello,

Changing or replacing of processor also depends on the MOBO and the rest of the PC config. But Mobo compatibility is also important. If you can, then please check whether you’re current MOBO supports the said processor of your choice.

It is better to do the homework before going for the purchase. Most of the laptops have processors which are built-in and so i guess that your HP Probook 4525s has also come with the same buildup.
