Try FedEx. The shipping on the video cards is always about $10. They charge by size so the smaller the package the cheaper the cost. Tried UPS once but it was expensive. EVGA sent me a prepaid shipping label. The Egg does the same but only if you ask for it. It's like the airlines I used to work for. They had a special bereavement rate if someone dies and you have to book last minute to go to trhe funeral. But only if you ask for it. We reservation agents weren't allowed to offer it. It could get us fired. Got fired from there anyway. I had 42 seconds unaccounted for on the phone, the month after I was employee of the month. How $hi++y is that?

i have been in Duluth GA all last week for work.. Went to Fry's Electronic on 3 different occasions.. it was painful going into this store because trying to not pull out the wallet... lol.. BUT..... I was unsuccessful... in the end, I ended up getting a CM Storm Sirus headset and Corsair H80i (to replace my H50 in my new build).

Hippy -

Very glad that XFX bumped you up to a 6870 (most likely due to they are totally out of 6850 parts and no backfill on the horizon). I have a 6870 in my current system and she will do you just fine. great card. You may still want to consider getting the Arctic Cooler in the future to lower the temps and noise.

Mot -

What happened to your original H80 that you had to do a RMA?
Why do you like the H80 over the "i" version?
As far as the software utility for the H80i, I understand that it auto adjust the fans to cpu temps, but does it adjust the pump speed or is the pump speed a set speed???
Can you run the H80i without the software utility installed?
I may be interested in your H80

The firmware got corupted. And it wouldnt control my fans. They were running full speed then they would shut off and then full speed again it was really annoying plus the pump was doing the same thing so my temps were up and down.I liked the H80 better(before the firmware got borked) because it looked better and was easier to use.And you dont have to worry about the Corsair link2 program which sucks by the way.New version might be better i just downloaded it about 20 minutes ago so i dont know yet but so far it looks like its better and easier to use.The H80i does cool my cpu about 3c better though

the H80i has a firmware bug too but corsair has a fix for that .If you dont do the fix the fans will make weird noises .Its a welll know bug.But i think the fixed it on the later produced H80i's.I had to flash mines firmware and it worked great

That was back in the '80's Tom working off some main frame that would go down every day at least once. I was a domestic reservations agent for Continental Airlines. They sucked. Back then everything was done over the phone and you had to put in this huge line of code for each command. I hated that DOS stuff. That's why I hate Linux I think. You would have to input an 18 character line of code just to see if a flight was on time to Newark. Some commands were longer. I was so good at that job. One day some sap called to see if his girlfriends flight was on time. By the time he finally got off the phone I had talked him into 2 round trips to Hawaii for him and his girl. One time this N.Y. jerk was p**sed cause his mothers flight from Miami was delayed due to rerouting for a big storm system over the Carolina's, and he's all "don't give me that BS I'm lookin' out my win-doh an da weathers fine Stop lyin'!" and I said Oh sorry sir I didn't know your house was at 20 thousand feet. Got in trouble for that one the supervisors were always snooping on your calls, whoops I mean monitoring for customer quality. My boss was a woman at the time when women, because of hippies like me were making in roads into management for the first time. She thought she had to be a hard ass to show the boys women were tough. I remember getting escorted from the building by security after I called her a heartless b1+ch and corporate bimbo.ms. Grey. She was hot though, obviously moving up on her looks not people skills.

Anyway XFX's support site is still down. And there's no phone numbers and they aren't responding to my e-mails and I'm getting pee'd off with this funky broke ass discontinued card they sent me. It gets almost 10fps in Crysis3 with everything at max but still has decent frame rates with settings to medium. These are the kind of artifacts I'm getting. They go from annoying to ugly geometric chunks on the screen...sigh!

EDIT: I think I'm gonna sell it and get a 650tiBoost maybe unless I can find a 660 refurbished or something like that. i need to learn all the new jargon again to shop though. cuda cores? sones? why can't they just let the tech terms stay the same for christ sake!?! I just have my H80 cranked to high all the time. not too noisy. Firmware huh. that's a bummer. Oh well, it's midnight and I'm out of rolling papers. gonna have to do a bicycle run to the gas station.

>> Re: POS ALERT! XFX Radeon HD 6850
One week shy of 2 months now without a video card. they received the bad 6870 replacement on Monday and it's now Thursday and the card is still in "testing" phase! I called and they are out of 6870s and might have them in to ship to me by some time next week. This is the worst customer service experience I've ever had! One interesting thing though. I'm using the on chip graphics on my i3570K and with everything turned down as low as possible except resolution at 1920x1200 I can actually play Crysis3 without any appreciable lag. Pretty amazing eh?

EDIT: Anyone have a decent socket 1155 Z77 mobo they want to sell cheap?

Its pretty impressive how good IGPs are these days. Try lowering your rez and see what that baby can do.

Also, read the warranty info and look for what they're supposed to do if they run out of your specific video card model. Other companies sometimes give you an upgrade or anothe model with similar performance.

I think the 7850 performs better than the GT650Ti Boost and its cheaper or priced the same.

They already took me from a 6850 to a 6870. I don't think upgrades to current cards are in their playbook. at this point I'd be happy with even the 6850 again. As for the IGP I just either blew my mobo or PSU. I never had so many problems with a current gen build before. Probably because I've never had one before. That Cry3 was at 600x800. Right now I'm using a Athlon 1500 XP with XPPro SP# and onboard graphics with 512MB's of DDR2700. I'm dyin' here I tell ya! LOL

Man...... I hate to see you going through the pain... I feel for ya..

So that's why you are looking for a new mobo because it may be borked... RMA it too? I wouldnt think that you be having issue already with that Gigabyte Z77 board. If you are getting a new mobo... consider a ASRock... Mine is the ASRock H77M micro ATX. So far it is doing well. I got this board for 65.00 at NewEgg.

The rate you are going with your systems.... ummm... I have a 486/100 with a Cirrus Logic graphics in the closet when you are ready........ :P

In regards to Corsair H80i talked about earlier....

I have this installed on my i7 3770K..... at idle it averages 28~30C and while at load during BF3 it goes up to 48~50C. Never gone above 50C yet. As for my GTX670, i installed EVGA Precision X that you mentioned earlier, configured it up..... 40% at normal state and up step up to higher speeds at temps goes up. So far, at full tilt, the gpu highest temp and fan rpm is 65C at 70%.

Oh.... as for the H80i, I dont use the software nor I have the fans plugged into the cooling block... all my fans are connected to a manual fan controller. To me, this might be old school but... it still effective and simple. All that high flutten software stuff might be great when it works.... but there sure alot of complaints with it... at least from what I have been reading. The lighted corsair is great and changing colors is wonderful... but... when the case is all closed up without a window.... cant enjoy it. oh well. lol... But, the cooling performance is really good and that is the main reason to have it.

I have the H80. It doesn't come with the software control option. I'm also running my i5 3570K at 4.6GHz with the power boost and speed step crap disabled so the H80 is running at max, 24/7. the GA-Z77X-UD3H is OK, but I don't like it that 1/2 the USB3.0's are running off an Intel controller, and the other 1/2 are running off of VIA controllers. That doesn't make sense to me, and the audio is also VIA and I've never been a fan of VIA chipsets anyway. plus there are 4 SATAII connectors and only 2 SATAIII connectors and one of those I'll loose if I want to install an SSD drive. Then there's the thing where the USB 3.0 connectors are non operational till the OS is installed so I have to switch the keyboard and mouse to the USB 2.0 internal connectors on the front of my case to use them when installing. It's like they threw all this s**t on to the board without much thought. I've really got to do some homework to find what I want. I'm thinking about selling the Gigabyte after I get it back from the RMA and looking for a bit higher end but affordable board.

It's funny, I've got an XFX HD 6850 that I purchased from a friend of mine for $75 -- because the fan had died and it was still rather new. Still, blaming AMD for it's PCB partner's choice of fans seems pretty low. It's not their fault. I went and replaced it with an Arctic Cooling Twin Turbo Pro, and it runs GREAT. The only problem is... that cooler is effing huge, and the card takes up a full three slots.
