I am new for this site. One of laptop Toshiba A200 Power on for few seconds only. power led just blink a second only. fan also just spin and stop. i checked all RAM, HDD, PROC..

please help me..

If you are confident enough that the components like RAM and HDD are fine, then my suspicion is on the smps or the motherboard. These kind of problems generate when SMPS doesn't offer the power supply in a consistent way. What I mean is the adapter which converts ac to dc in order to divide voltage to appropriate units.

There is also a possibility of short circuit on the MOBO which creates such problems. This usually occurs in moist/humid weather conditions.

Also once Check out the heat sink as well.

Is the system generating some noise while powering up?
