Hello dear,

I have a Samsung laptop;
According to SIW,
CPU: Intel Core i5 M460 @ 2.53GHz
CPU socket: Socket 989 rPGA
Max CPU speed: 4000Mhz

What does the Max CPU speed means?

Thanx

.
Most likely it means the laptop runs most of the time at about the lower speed you referenced, and that it may also run at 4GHz for short periods of time if an application can benefit from the higher speed.

However, it is likely thermally limited to protect the CPU, and if the CPU is too hot it won't speed up to the higher speed.

last I was using p4 3 GHz when it gone I swithched to core 2 duo E7200 2.53 GHz, 1 gb DDR2 ram, n chip 945 board but it is Chinese made board
problem is my speed shows 1.23 GHz speed, I chechek by some analyzer software it still shows core 1 - -1.23 n core2-- 1.18 GHz,

every one tells that core2duo is good comparison to p4 but the problem game like "tomb raider legend" not running smoothly as was in p4,
1)- is their any setting in bios which can speed up my full processor

2)- or this problem is with Chinese board board is in warrenty period.
