I have had this model of laptop for a couple of years now and one day it started randomly shutting off with a few jiggles of the power cord it turned on again. It started doing this more and more until finally it just wont turn on. Now when you plug it in the light on the power button comes on but no fans or any indication that is is on. After a few seconds the light blinks and then goes off do you have any ideas? Also the battery wont charge with the power cord and you can not turn it on without a power cord if you have any ideas on that it would be great.

Hi,

I think the problem is in your motherboard and the power cord. Sometimes due to lack of grounding these type of issues crop up. Remember, circuits on MOBO are very brittle and any small discrepancy in power can fry the MOBO partially or fully.

So, I think it is better to show your PC to a professional as he will be the right person to judge the fault in an affective way.
