My newly purchased asus X550L laptop won't start charging straightaway when it has been off for a while. Takes around 15 minutes for the charging light to come on and during that time, my laptop won't turn on! Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

Could be a bad charger but if it's new I would return it ASAP. Don't try and fix it just return it without hesitation.

Hi,

Even my laptop does the same. But it takes around 5 minutes to boot-up on battery or on AC power.

When i asked the guy who repairs laptops, he said that it could be an OS problem or some kind of problem with hard-disk set-up. He kept it one day and checked and said that the problem is resolved. But the problem is still persisting.

Can any one guess the problem and tell whether it is at the hardware level or the software?

BTW, mine is a Dell PC with windows 7 on board. It has a i5, intel MOBO, 2GB ram and 500GB HDD.
