Find out where that shortened URL really goes with Unshorten. It!
Clicking on a shortened URL is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you are going to get. If you spend any amount of time on social media then you have seen a shortened URL; while some may not give them a second thought and click away, others do and with Unshorten. It! you will wonder no more.

I haven't tried this, but such a tool would make finding out the final destination of URLs easier. For example, currently if I want to find the final URL that a "bit.ly" link goes to, I have to manually add a "+" sign to the URL and go through a few steps to see where things are really going. Unfortunately, each URL shortening website has its own method of expanding the URL to the final value, so what worked for bit.ly won't work for TinyURL and so on.

e.g. http://bit.ly/1234567 change to http://bit.ly/1234567+ and instead of taking you to the final "hidden" webpage, it shows you the full URL to that webpage and then gives you the option of proceeding to that webpage. This would let you avoid linking directly to potentially troublesome, illegal, or embarrassing websites that might be logged by your IT department.

I'm guessing this add-on/plug-in "knows" how to do this for multiple URL shortening websites and simply does the necessary grunt work for you.
