hi can any one help me please--
last I was using p4 3 GHz when it gone I swithched to core 2 duo E7200 2.53 GHz, 1 gb DDR2 ram, n chip 945 board but it is Chinese made board
problem is my speed shows 1.23 GHz speed, I chechek by some analyzer software it still shows core 1 - -1.23 n core2-- 1.18 GHz,

every one tells that core2duo is good comparison to p4 but the problem game like "tomb raider legend" not running smoothly as was in p4,
1)- is their any setting in bios which can speed up my full processor

2)- or this problem is with Chinese board board is in warrenty period.

plz help ASAP......

Conflicting info:

One source says 945 board supports only:CPU:
PentiumD or CeleronD

Another source says some 945 motherboards MIGHT support Core2 Duo, but requires a motherboard firmware update (not identified)

That suggests 945 CPU support depends on different versions of 945 motherboard and different manufacturers and firmware level and BIOS settings.

Only your specific 945 motherboard user manual or motherboard manufacturer's website can provide valid information. If Core2 Duo E7200 is not listed, then it isn't supported by that manufacturer on that motherboard. IF Core2 Duo E7200 is supported per manufacturer motherboard documents, then check firmware/BIOS requirements. Otherwise likely motherboard or CPU failure.

It is also possible that CPU speed (frequency) is being "throttled" due to over-temperature. This may be due to insufficient cooling (Core2 Duo E7200 dissipating too many Watts for your specific motherboard and.setup). Insufficient cooling can also be caused by improper CPU heatsink mount or improper fan CFM or m3/sec. Note: if the E7200 CPU is higher wattage than your old P4 CPU, then your old CPU heatsink/cooler may not be sufficient to keep E7200 cool enough.
