I love it...I have a ATI Radeon 9700 pro...and it stays cool...the Zalman gets warm...but its supposed to...its a heatsink! I have a pretty cool system as it is though, 2 intake fans and 3 outtake fans, + of course my CPU fan...so I thought I needed to quiet it down a bit and bought the Zalman. Instructions are easy and the heatsink will fit almost any card with mounting screws. My computer is still quiet and thanks to the Zalman, my ATI 9700 pro stays cool. Oh yea...just a reminder...one major setback...by installing the Zalman..you void any and all ati radeon warranties! OUCH. have fun modding.

I had no end of crashes and lockups with my ATI 9700 Pro so I bought this as a lot of websites pointed to the main cause being heat, well they were right the Zalman Heatpipe solved the problem although the downside is the case temperature has increased by 10 degrees but I will attach an 80x80mm fan directly to the top of the heatsink like I had seen in a modded case where the fan was blowing the heat up towards a couple of case exhaust fans.

So all in all I would recommend it as I have had no problems with it.

See bio for system setup.

Fitting this product resulted in a broken GPU. Thats my experiance. Nice product, but Im not sure what went wrong.
For those not feeling quite up to mounting this but still want a silent GPU - The Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9800 and 9600 is a decent one without a fan, just a heatsink - Zalman ZM80A-HP, passive videocard heatsink, in fact.

I can't even think how your GPU got busted seeing as the part of the heatsink doesn't physically touch the chip without the help of some thermal grease to transfer the heat.....unless you got some on the transistors near the chip?

See bio for system setup.
