It looked good so I built me one too. :o) It has not been put into production front-end yet because it is part of a dev. project and really getting a workout.

Noted differences:
I chose FreeBSD 4.6 and a pair of 1.13 / 512 /133 instead of your Linux and 1.26s. It pleases me at times to think that I can upgrade the processors down the road should that be required. (I can't think of why.)

I only have an Asus CUV4X-D with a pair of 1000 Coppermines to compare the Tyan 2518 to but its enough for me to be very happy with the setup.

All that aside, I wanted to make this post to say thanks for the article -- it's a good read. Well done.

And....

I wonder if anyone else has tried this combo with a plug-in 64-bit ATA133 IDE Raid Controller?
