I too am having sound issues. Mp3 are all good but C&C, parts of warcraft III and spiderman the movie the game are really atrocious. I am now using the onboard sound but i was getting similar results with SB live 5.1

Hi,
try this: Remove all trace of the sound hardware in Control panel/System. Re-boot to Safe mode(F5) and, again remove all of the sound stuff in the System panel. Turn off the machine and get a beer. Re-start the machine and follow the instructions to re-install the (latest) drivers. Sound like you'll find lots of stuff in the Safe mode/Control Panel/System settings. When you remove HDWR without removing it in safe mode you can get copies remaining. This works with Win98/ME and has resolved a similar problem for one of my clients.

Thanks dude that sorted it out for me, no idea why the sound would mess up after 2months working fine though, also it has always been really quiet for some reason....luckily i have my hi-fi connected to amplify the sound and add a nice bit of bass :D
