Ok..I have a A7V333 mobo..but I have to flash the bios..because it says that i need to do it in order to use the Thorton cpu (AMD)
sooo..if i just plugin the cpu without flashing the bios yet, would that like damage anything?

Asus A7V8X-X

Hmm, from what I remember, the Thorton is just a Barton with the 512kb of cache cut in half... but I could be wrong. I think it will work because the bios update is only to recognize it. I put a 2500+ in my motherboard before I updated the bios. The only thing weird was that Windows didn't recognize its model number. I don't think you have to worry about anything blowing up.

you should be able to just plug the cpu in and then do the flash. If the Mobo doesn't actually 'support' the CPU until flashed then the pc simply wont boot. so no damage will be done.

If it doesn't boot with said CPU in get a supported CPU and then flash.
