I like the idea of avatars, but I can GUARANTEE there will be porno avatars, so that will probably knock it out of the running in possible options. Delete posts is needed, cause sometimes, you click twice and double post. Also, I think that the people on the leader board should be able to choose what they would like to be know as. I would probably classify myself as a games forum junkie. lol I think that this has been a great site since early 2003. I didn't register till the end od last year, because I personally just liked reading the posts, as do the 700+ anonymous users that are always on.

No, you can edit your posts though.

So what people should do if the accidently double post is to go in to 'Edit Post' and delete all the text. The post will still be there but it will be empty, this would be a lot less anoying.

While I like HWA as it is some improvement could be made some along the lines suggested. However this all takes time and resources (MEN MONEY and MACHINES) that for a free forum is a big ask. I suspect that moderation is time consuming and the HWA team probably has a search function to identify inappropriate language and possibly brands to avoid liable issues

My one bitch is that some use the forum to press their political views as a topic there are other forums and yer local newspapers or news service 24/7. No problem with asides or such but full blown political discussion is a pain and a waste of space on this site

My ask would be can we access a list of forum topics other than the current ones by way of an archive or some link to other forum topics sinxce I often come across essentially the same question in a different format that requires an almost identical response.

Perhaps the idea of forced use of the FAQs could be modiffied such that the user seeking to post a topic could be queried as to there nature of the problem and be provided with a list of possible forum numbers. If they cannot find it they could be issued with a "token ID" that they could use if the forums come up empty.

Appart from that thanks to the HWA team

How about restricting the signatures to 1 or 2 lines. Half the pages seem to be taken up with computer specs. If I want to check out someone's specs I look at their profile. (If they bother putting them there - most don't seem to put them on their posts!)

Do unto others exactly what you expect them to do to you.

What about the Jump to page: 1, 2, 3, .....?

It's only at the bottom. I think we should add one for the top also. It's annoying having to wait for the page to fully load up and then scroll down to the bottom to go to the next page. If we could get one on top, it might be a lot easier.

Able to do HTML also is nice but it will require a fair bit of bandwidth and I think more bandwidth, more expensive to host.

So HTML and Avatars can wait but I'm sure delete options and new rank system and such are really required.

We could have avatars, but we would limit it to users with 300 posts or more. That way it will be responsible members using avatars and we won't end up with porn.

Don't forget about the 'Jump To Page' thing. Add one at the top also. Not just the bottom of the page. :)

I am none to concerned about the number of posts one makes for ranking.. So somone has a lot to say.. means not that they can speak.. fluently..

One thing I would like that was mentioned was the listing of pages near the top. But I can press [END] in the meantime. :)

I like the square smilies. kina unique to HWA. But per haps a few more ;P :P :) ;) not all the same. : )

ONe item I was dealing with today.. deleting individual topics I subscribed to thtat I no longer have an interest in or that are no longer being used.. "dead". Individually I am still not through half of them.. and still have some dead ones from December 2003. :) (the last time I had cleared things up.. or about that time. :) )

My 2 cents.

I like my sig. perhaps a bit long, but tab'd formatting doesn't exist. And the spaces are annoying. :P :)
sig follows for those that are offened please turn the channel or ask mommy if it is ok to view. ;D.. oh well.. here it is anyways.. no PG or R or X ratings.. but fell offended if you wish. I've read shorts (sigs) that had insulting messages.

ok, does someone want to go thru what everyone just said and make a clear list of what we need? And have Sander take them into action?

well there is quite a bit of wasted space on each side of the topics page, i mean you could probably expand the latest topics column by maybe 20 more lines and maybe have darker theme to this site, looking at white all the time gets boring.
