Now on my third V3-they don't work very well after being soaked in the washing for four hours (who knew?)

Very good phone though-easily the best I've had. Thoroughly recommended. Just not waterproof.

What about the Z800i (sonyericsson). Google it! I love that phone! Well as far as normal phones go, that's the phone I love. And I hear people talking about the Razr V3, but that's not a UMTS/3G phone! So, not the way to go for the future.
And in bigger phones... the SonyEricssons look ok, but I've always loved the big Nokia's (9xxx series)

I'm waiting on the Motorola Razr V3X to come out, it's got a better camera and hopefully less squeaking than the V3.

Suppose to be released somewhere between October and December of this year.

I use Sprint and I just replaced my sanyo scp-4900 for a sanyo mm-8300. The 8300 is nice and comes with all the bells and whistles you'll never use. I don't worry about how the phone looks so much since it spends most of it's time in my pocket. When you (the original poster) are buying a phone, consider how much you'll use the extra crap since the manufacturers charge so much for features. Internet, movies, music, AIM, bluetooth, custom ringers, cameras, camcorders, games, etc. are nice but do you need it? Can you justify the cost? As you can see I speak from a more practical point of view.

Edit: I forgot price. The 8300 is 300USD new and around 120 if you're upgrading from an 2 year old or older sprint phone. I upgraded; I would have never purchased this model otherwise.

It is said that when it comes to life, those who feel see it as a tragedy. Those who think see it as a comedy.

in all seriousness though. screw the regular phone market. go with a pocket pc. or more specifically the Siemens SX-66 BlueAngle. i have the regular SX-66 and i love the da*n thing. the BlueAngle comes with a camera which is the only difference between the two. its a bit pricy at $650 US and another $100 for an unlocked one but then again it is a computer. it does everything you need it to do and more.

128mb built in memory
SD expandable card slot
a supersize screen (seriously this screen is huge)
great call strength
and how can i forget, it has the ability to all other phones to shame. except a treo 650

but in about a months time i will be getting the new Push-to-Talk Samsung. i work for cingular so i will be getting one for free before the rest of the market does. yes! 2 months later it will find its way to eBay.

but seriously go with a SX-66 or the SX-66 BlueAngle.
look it up on
its dope

get some. G-Unit
