Thanks very much, I appreciate the prompt response. However, I'm not so sure were to find the drivers for this ECS motherboard...Via didn't make the motherboard, right? Anyway, it would be awesome if you could direct me to the downloads. Thanx!

Thanks a lot! You guys are really helpful! I'm guessing it's the VIAHyperion4in1v4.51.zip file, right? And just one more question. I did a search for drivers on the ECS website as well and I was wondering if there is any difference between the Hyperion drivers and the ones listed on:

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download...SD2%20(5.0)

or the VIA 4in1 Driver V4.39v file at:

http://www.ecsusa.com/downloads/drivers_p4v.html

Thanx!

Take the latest drivers (4.51x) from VIA web site and be happy. The instalation process will figure everything else. VIA has one set of drivers for ALL it's chipsets even the latest ones.

Can anybody tell me which P4 processor I can use with this motherboard?

I saw some
Intel Pentium 4 2.26GHz 533MHz FSB L2 cache: 512KB Northwood Core
and
Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz 533MHz FSB L2 cache: 1024KB Prescott Core
The difference is in L2 cache and Core thechnology.

Which one would work with this mobo?

Thank you.

You won't be able to use the Prescott.

Sorry guys, you may have already gone over this, but where can I find the latest BIOS for this mobo (p4vxasd2+ 5.0b) and do you think having the latest BIOS helps? I mainly have stability problems, e.g. the mouse would stop working sometimes when I watch DVDs and games would sometimes restart the computer.

Thanx!

030310 is the latest BIOS. If you run into problems as this board is problematic with flashing BIOS, post back and I will help you. If you are not having any problems with the board, I would suggest you leave it be. "If it ain't broke don't fix it."

Thanks! I'm little apprehensive about flashing BIOS, I'll admit, 'cuz of some of the problems I saw on this forum. But as I mentioned in the last post, I do have some problems (however, whether or not it's attibutable to the board, I don't know). I have had some success with stability problems in the past by upgrading the drivers (thanx to people on this forum), which lead me to suspect my mobo.

I ran this board overclocked for almost a year with no stability problems, so I know it pretty well. Give me a run down on what kind of problems you are having or let me know and I'll walk you through on how to flash the BIOS.

Go to nVidias web site. On the drivers page in the left column towards the bottom you will see the drivers archive link. Try downloading the old 44.03 detonator drivers for your G4

System just freezes, no message. I allowed my friend to use my cpu on his system witht the similar problem and he flashed the memory and it workd fine, but once chjip was placed on the original system it inherited the problem but I can't find no memory flash solution on the web or thru the company(ECS) for my motherboard, it freezes and won't allow me to run the bios update either. P4VXASD2+ mobo.
