I have a "decent" 6800GT, & I have to agree w/ Evan B

6800 "family" was "on top", but now the 850 "family will be "on top" for a while..........

Until the 6850's come out

yes but your only runing a core of 415. Just a little better than a stock 6800 U. Another 40 on that core is a difrence of 2000 to 4000 points in 3dmark05 and a exstra 100 FPS in half life 2. Little gose a long ways with 6800 GT,U ,UE. Just like AMD.

It's called proportionality PCGEEK, if the 6800 GT runs slower than an X850 XT PE (both at stock) and you overclock both then they will both shift the same amount theorectically in performance increase.

Dont think I am naive b/c I mentioned clock speeds... b/c if thats all you got from my last post I might as well just sit here with an ATI Rules shirt on...:S

True potential? From lowering colour precision to 16 bit? Lol yeah ok...lemme unlock the "true potential" of my Rage II 8mb....:) Drivers that degrade quality (which I believe yours do) should not be called drivers they should be called benchmarkers...if you zoomed in just a bit on any of some screens you take and compare them with official NV drivers you WOULD notice a difference.

In regards to SM 3.0, can you mention one game that used it this year... that is actually on the market and you can NOTICE a difference? Didnt think so....

I however like most people care about quality more than 140 fps when 60 will suffice.

Thats all for now... i'm tired.

PCGEEK, 40MHZ on the core does not make a difference of 2000-4000 points in 3D 05'

That's just "silly"

& remember, my memory is running @ 1.18Ghz

& before you "put down" " Xtreme"

Do I have to remind you that I currently hold the highest published 3D 05' score on EARTH for a
6800GT w/ AthlonXP 2015Mhz & under?"

Link in sig, son

UMMM.. why not? are you talking about everyone in this thread or just the folks immediately above your post?
,,, trying the mature thing and waiting to see what you really ment.. before i react to it. :)

SUPER XP, nice link.. i heard the news, but couldn't find a pic of it... in ASUS fashion im betting that board wil have 15 bios revision in the first six days :) Also ATI has their working AMD AMR up and running at CeBIT for a few lucky NDA's to see.

Well....my x800 Pro is on the way. I'll load the XT firmware on it and start to work.

I'll post my scores if anyone cares to see them. I actually have my system running stock on a 660 GT AGP right now. It's not a bad card, but I really missed the compressed video cleanup that ATI has on all 9x series and above cards. If you don't watch much in the way of DiVX, then it shouldn't say your purchasing decisions. Personally, I have been missing it ever since I went from my 9800 Pro to the 6600...

I'll go ahead and take requests now for the setup. I can leave my Proc and board stock or give it a little juice. My specs are in my profile.

On all the new games either card can handle highest res and settings etc. So for the extra features of the Radeon like the Truform that can make my old games look amazing make it the card that in my mind is the one worth buying.

AMD 64bit 3400+
2Gb 400 RAM
2 x 40GB SATA in raid 0
and a pathetic old gforce ti4200 (Have seen truform running on a friends machine before anyone starts nitpicking at my comments)

I'm a mawg. Half man. Half dog.

Hey, I'm my own best friend.

Rig spec in profile.

hey SuperXP, you get 11700 in 3dmark03 right? I get 11250 with my 6800GT OC 256MB, how is that score. Is your card overclocked? or cpu? my athlon 2500+ @ 1.8ghz is now clocked to 2.3ghz, but my 6800GT isnt touched.
