Merging DRM "stamps'' to your audio files (with SonyEricsson V800)
 Date Written

I bought a new phone this week and because I make my own music I thought it would be fun to make my own ringtones. When i send a normal mp3,wma....etc. I got the notification that it should contain a DRM ''stamp''. After a few hours I found some tools on te internet to do this but after converting them to a WMA file with a DRM "stamp'' my phone does not recognize them as an audio file anymore and cannot use them as a ringtone.

I hope somebody has an answer to this problem.

convert your audio files to mp3. then dowlnoad the sony ericsson drm packager. do a google search.

load your mp3 files into drm packager and click on create drm content.

a drm folder should appear with files with a dm extension. if not it wil be something else (you'll want the larger files (in some cases you'll get 2 files ( 400kb mp3.dd 1kb)))

you'll want the larger version of the file.

transfer the dm or larger version of the file to your phone.

when you open it a key should appear.

you should then be able to use it as a ringtone.

I have downloaded the drm packager from the Sony ericsson site but i Have the following problem.
When I add a mp3 file a window warnings that one or several media types are not defined in the device profile. But as I can see in the device profile the mp3 files are defined. The version of the drm packager is 1.34. Has anyone any older packager or a
dpr file that supports conversion for mp3 files to dd?

Your music, your phone, and yet they treat you like a criminal! Brilliant!
