yea i need to know how to make an extended partition from my primary drive (c:) so then i can make a logical drive to have windows xp home edition and pro in my comp...i followed one of the help files in my computer, but i never worked

hello

i think that you will need a 3rd party partition editing software, as i cant seem to do it with windowsxp's disk management. partition magic is a good one. just be very carefull, it could leave u with nothing if u dont do it properly

i dont think theres much point to having both windows xp home and pro on the same PC, could you just upgrade the home edition to pro? (or visa versa) this would get around the obvious license and update issues

the problem is that the winxp pro is older than my home edition....and so it wont install...

i still fail to understand the need for 2 installations of windows, but you could boot the pc form the windows cd to install it,
and to repartition you would need something like partition magic, but you'd have to pay for it and as far as i know there isnt any free software to split up the drive
