I'm not scarey so no need to hide from me Sean *Smiles innocently*..... well unless you are a computer hardware manufacturer or retailer who sells me faulty hardware.... then that small weapon of yours would be a fruitless attempt to save yourself!!!!

Oh well, i will keep everyone updated as to what happens, will take about a couple of weeks (so you can come out of hiding and breath easy for awhile Sean!!!!) ......

By chance does anyone know the BEEP code for continuous very fast short on off beeps (when i pluged the 20-24 and 4-8 power adaptor in and tried booting with ECC memory) that is the code i got (not the normal LooooNG on the short Off memory code beep).....

i also think there is something screwed with the USB ports, as if i clear CMOS and the enter it and enable USB keyboard the horrid thing wont work, the only way is to plug a PS2 keyboard in AND a USB one ... dont have to use the PS2 one (just wants something pluged into a ps2 port) but cant use the USB one unless i have the PS2 pluged in as well this is just for the initial boot after clearing the CMOS, after i have booted into windows for the first time then i can reboot without have the PS2 keyboard pluged in....

Personally i think the board is a total DUD in more than one way!!!!

PS. Sorry for the chomp there dublin!!! .... will try to be a little more gentle next time......

Goes off to find my spare Land to Air missile launcher ready for gigabyte........

Thanks for the link Payton..... i looked on it and the weird very fast short high/low tone is not documented. LOL just my luck that that mainboard seems to talk in a language only itself can understand!!!
However it will get sent back in the morning to be tested fixed/replaced, so i will let you all know the results when they come in....

Cheers once again to all who helped and tried to keep me sane though all this .... (sanity left me along time ago though)...

LOL .... if it was then it was an ambulance dosed up to the eyeballs on speed, as they were extremly fast high/low tones, only heard the same tones once before, and that was on a totally stuffed mainboard that wouldnt even boot..... :D

OK update.... gave faulty board back to where i got it from = SBS, they rang tecpac/ingram micro (major supplier in NZ) and a new board is being shiped today, delivery to me is expected tomorrow (as overnight courier), since tecpac won't even recieve the faulty one back untill tomorrow then i think the service on getting the new board is next to none!! YaY!!!!!
