  Benchmark Analysis
 Date Written
Jack Sparrow Sep 17, 2005, 04:03am EDT Report Abuse
I would take this article with a very large grain of salt - the writer admits on the first page he is effectively publishing this to spite ATI.

No Crossfire results either - the long bars being the nVidia SLI 7800s at the top - seems specifically to make the ATI cards seem much slower than they actually are. Admittedly he may not have access to Crossfire hardware - but then leave out the SLI results.

All around very unprofessional. Wait for the real benchmarks from sites without an axe to grind.

Sander got us some results ahead of the NDA expirey and put it against all of the high end cards. You don't have to believe them nor read them. So don't criticise - unless you have more reliable results that you have obtained yourself with the X1800XT...thought not.

And Sander did say that they may not be accurate - he's just giving an indication of performance ahead of everyone else - that's a good thing.

I think it's quite pathetic that you sign up to HWA just so you can criticize it. When you run a top-notch site with at least 2000 people viewing at any one then feel free...but I'm guessing the best you can do is a crappy basic HTML site or something made using the beginner features of FrontPage.

lets look at the fact shall we.
1) he may be doing this to spit ati, we dont really know
2) he does not have the hardware and the tests where performed by an unnamed third party
3) this was done on pre-release drivers and hardware and is subject to change

so we really dont know that much except what this indication has told us, ie not much, who was the third party? how reliable are they?
sander has done some good articles in the past but this one just lets us down because the figures are unconfirmed

Look Sander didn't publish a review. He go tinformation and told us; would you prefer him to have kept it to himself?

Come on guys, i gotta agree with Gamerz here, Sander Sassen is just giving us some early info. He even said it might not be 100% final. but it gives us an early idea of what to expect.

Gamerz is 100% correct, so Jack Sparrow keep things to your self and read thigns before you judge them...

The hell I'm not going to criticize.

This is the most biased piece of crap review I have ever laid eyes on. Congratulations. This "benchmark" makes Apple's in-house benchmarks look fair. How you can take this with even a grain of salt is perfectly ridiculous. It's funny how every other site on the internet shows the X850 XT PE would handily show the 6800 GT it's ass on a silver platter, but no.

I guess if one person says it ISN'T true, where the other 99% of the world percieves it to be true, the guy who's thinking out of the box MUST be right. Thank you, this is the most idiotic thing I have ever seen. I hope to god every shred of credibility this site has as a "review" site is sent to hell and burned to a crisp, I've had enough of this downrights**t.

"...Sander Sassen is just giving us some early info..."

No, he's not. These are downright lies. The X850 XT PE does not score below a 6800 GT in Half Life 2, that alone ought to be giving people, even Nvidia fans, a *slight* hint that maaaaaaybe this entire review is a titanic barge full of crap.

This is positively the most appalling thing I've ever seen anywhere... I... I don't even believe someone would post this. This is degrading, downright uprofessional and low.

Note: No test system specs, either. Way to go, idiot.

How much crack are you smoking. Read the article before commenting. The x850xt pe does exactly what you claim it should in the article.

Actually if you look at the HL2 scores the X850 XT PE beats the 6800 GT at every resolution - it is beaten at every resolution by a pair of 6800 GTs in SLi.

The problem with many people, that includes 'A a' and 'A_Pickle' is that they don't do what's required to get the full perspective here. The issue at hand goes a little deeper than just the benchmarks or the remarks mr. Bania made in another forum. Unless you've gone through the trouble of reading mr. Bania's reply and my rebuttal you really can't comment on this, so please refrain from doing so.
