Okay, I know this is going to sound crazy, but... I downloaded the newest Starship Troopers demo (I know, I KNOW it's stupid Starship Troopers) and I was completely caught off-gaurd. The demo looks incredible, better than FEAR, Doom 3, & Half-Life 2 combined. Although it is a demo and is not quite polished, my dual 6800's could barely keep up with it at medium settings @1024X768 resoulution (every game I have is set to 1280X1024 with everything set to high or max)! Aside from that the gameplay in insane! When killing bugs, corpses stay and I had probably 500 or so laying about! Even on the easy setting the "plasma bugs" are nearly impossible to bring down. I highly recommend getting this demo (especially for you 7800 peeps), and I'll be getting this game when it comes out (I know, I KNOW it's stupid Starship Troopers). :)

The game's graphics is plain ugly especially the character models. No way in hell its better looking than FEAR, Doom 3, & Half-Life 2 combined. I can run the game just fine with my outdated system (AMD 1700 xp, 640 mb and 9800 pro) on fairly high settings. Though i didnt enable shadows but i think it wont make a big difference. The overall graphics is still crap either way.

Just because it stresses your SLI settup more, doesnt mean it has the best graphics.........Its more likely that its just poorly coded.

David.

Beta maybe, crap maybe, bad code maybe but... Pay attention to the amount of bugs and the detail of the environment. All the surfaces and textures are VERY well rendered. Pay close attention to the rocks as you move through the level, I did and I was amazed. Think what you want, I believe this one will be a hit.

Alan

How much ram is on your 6800's 128 or 256mb? Also have you heard of the SLI game enhancer utility? Well here is a link for it if you want to down load it.It help you make games that arent coded for SLI Run IN SLI etc

This game looks like Halo to me (graphics wise). I was a big fan of Starship Troopers, but the game SUCKS. Poorly coded... and the bugs attack like they are on rails. Not to mention THEY DON'T DIE!

I see bugs slide at me, I see them slide at me *through* walls, I see them appear in front of me, I hear them beside me when they are right in front... :( :( :( :( :( :~ :~

I'm so dissapointed.

I find it hard to believe that any game company would release a game which had a minimum requirement of 2GB of ram. Recommended, maybe, but if they're setting that as a minimum it would be commercial suicide.
