With the new ATI Drivers, & there Dual Core support, I think a X2 4800+ OC'ed to 2.80 GHz+ can get you an easy 20,000+ in 3D Mark 2003.

PCGEEK, what is your Aquamark 3 score?

One more think, my DDR500 2-2-2-7 1T generates more bandwidth/sec than DDR2 800 5-5-5-10?!!?

I hope AMD's new Socket AM2 (Not Socket M2) is a lot faster. ;)

Well from I see a sandiago core @ 3.1 Ghz or X2 4800+ @ 5600+ seems to kick ass with the new GPU,s

Guys in raptor with better CPU,s then mine and less GPU overclock are kicking my ass. So i know my CPU is bottle necking my GPU bad Even @ 5000+ speeds its at now.

Super Aq3 was @ 111k . Where others are 130k ?

Actually, all of Futuremark's top 20 use FX55's, mostly FX57's.

Besides, why do you guys seriously care so much about some stupid benchmark? Look @ real world performance, not synthetic crap.

2 hrs of none stop Half life 2 plays maxed everything 60 to 90 FPS 1280x768 wide screen Core 725 memory 1660 . 47c max temp. less then 60 sec after i quite the game 40c.

That's cooler running stock air then 7800 GT OC SLI was by 4c.

Facts i see here is that ATI do not run hotter then Nvidia.

Is that monitor that good besides being large? Doesn't look so spectacular to me, at least not compared to the Samsungs and Sonys.

What's the common denominator between the San Diego core and the 4800+? Large cache, Still believe that cache doesn't matter?

Awww no, not Cache again !! ..

From what I heard, this Apple Screen is great, Images are Crisp, Sharper, Brighter & it support High Resolutions, with no Ghosting. It has good technologies implemented.

The only think I give a thumbs up for the 30' Inches Apple Cinema HD Display is for there low dot-pitch & size, that is about it.
Here are it's brief spec's

Brightness (typical) 250 cd/m2 270 cd/m2
No thank U, Samsung has btighter @ 300cd/m2, good for DVD movies:)

Contrast ratio (typical) 400:1
No thank U, I've seen nice Samsung LCD's with 700:1 & 800: & 900:1 & 1000:1 with same size but cheaper

Response time (typical) 16 ms
No thank U, apsolute minimu required for gaming is at least 8ms, but that is even too high, Samsumg has 3ms & 4ms for a great price along with nice 300cd/m2 & 700:1 contrast ratio

Pixel pitch 0.258 mm
This is where the Apple monitor wins hands down. They have a low dot-pitch or pixel pitch, many LCD's have 0.27 mm to 0.29 mm. The lower, the clearer.

So, are these Apple Cinemas overhyped?.. people who are using it, says they are loving it.

Anyways....

IMO, yes they are overhyped. But I am sure anybody buying them will be very happy, because Dot-Pitch makes a very very big difference in overall quality, and it's screen size looks nice.

Well, they are nice when you are doing graphic designing & stuff, but no good by far in gaming. DVD watching may be O.K. though, but you may see ghosting though, due to the very high 16ms responce time.

If its a true 16ms response time you shouldnt see much ghosting. If its acctually a 20ms response time and they just call it a 16ms then you will see ghosting. You want to see ghosting? Get the LCD that i have and dont use for gaming: a 2.5 year old Dell 15" Ultrasharp digital LCD, it has a 30ms response time, yeah thats right 30ms response time, it was made back when gaming on an LCD was a joke, and all hard core gamers had big CRTs.

There are reports that even a 8ms response time causes ghosting in intensive fast paced games. This is why I recommend the bare minimum of 8ms or the better 4ms & bellow.

I guess it all depends on what you are using the monitor for. I prefer though to have a monitor what is multi-use compatable ;)

So far, I see Samsung with the best prices for the best LCD's right now. Looking @ a 19inch LCD, 4ms responce time, 0.27dot-pitch, 300 brightness & 700:1 contrast ratio. Sounds Good for gamins?

I'll get Dell's 2005FPW and 2405FPW anyday over Apple's Cinema Displays. Check the specifications and price your-self to see why. Even Mac users use Dell's LCD screens over Cinema Displays. And recently Apple HAD to drop prices to compete with Dell. Only thing Dell doesn't have is a 30" LCD screen or they would have that market too.
