First thing I heard all night that's Intelligently put. Facts are There is no true way to measure response times. Try it out if it don't ghost or flicker then I say its a good monitor.

ya only way to measure performance is by doing it the traditional way, EYEBALLING IT, all i can say is my NEC Multisync LCD 1700V had a 25ms response time (3-4 years old) and i didnt notice any ghosting in games except for when back on windows desktop with cursor moving.

This 23 inch LCD HDTV wide screen i play on is listed @ 25 ms . But it kicked thes**t out of the samsung 8 ms i tried a few months back lol. Faster and smoother and games 1000 times better. So i know dam well Its not 25 ms and its not listed any where near right. Acts more like a 3 ms.

Responce time isn't the only thing, additional ports and some other stuff is nice, plus Dell just gives Bargain prices on their monitors. Their 2405FPW is an editor's choise for like 90% of magazines and reviews on the web. I actually own a 2005FPW for this computer so I know from experience that they are very good in terms of speed, if you refresh rate lock to what it's running at, the images barely even Ghost when you move around like crazy in black and white.

PCGEEK, you got to try out the new 5.13 drivers. They destroy NVIDIA BIG TIME in video, DVD, Quality by far & speed.

http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=28400

Quote:
The new 5.13 driver is smashing Nvidia in HQV video benchmark and you can clearly see that ATI R520 based card can process DVD quality video at much better quality than Nvidia G70 based hardware. ATI managed to score 108 in HQV benchmark while Nvidia scores 58 only, not that much. ATI chap compared the quality of R520 DVD playback with the score that you will get from super high end and expensive Denon DVD player.

We also had a chance to whiteness the transcoding head to head benchmark where ATI H.264 encoder managed to do the job three times faster than Nero software based H.264 encoder.

Now if that is not enough for somebody to buy a new X1800's series card, than WTF are you smoking? ;)

It's my understanding that responce time is most important in
respect to lag in online gaming.Real fast shooters in
head to head combat.CRT will have a slight advantage ove any

I've got a 2005FPW

Nice monitor. Good resolution. VERY bright. However, it does ghost in fast action. Still, unbeatable for $345 shipped. ;)

Oh ya, I have PIP too!

whats to keep clean on ur thread if u post up "Synthetic benchmarks will be done on default free test. X1800XT 512 stock air cooling Core 690 Mhz Memory 1600 Mhz.

In game performance will be done with max Eye candy on and compared to 2 7800 GT OC 492 1.22 in SLI.
"

why not compare 2 X1800XT PE 512MB to 2 7800GT in SLI why not compare technology to technology 1 card vs. 1 and 2 card vs 2?

SombaSan

You missed the point. I had 2 7800 GT OC 491 1.22 in SLI.

I wanted to compare 1 X1800XT 512 to them and see how well it stacked up. if it was a better single card option. Turns out it killed my SLI performance in games in every way possible. FPS and quality where no match.

This whole thing was done in order to know What was better for me and to offer people a perspective and facts to know just well how well it did.
