damn then i guess in that case ill have to get DDR 600 :-( i think im opting for a higher mutiliper CPU like the 3700+ i order in a week.

i could get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103535

or http://www.atacom.com/program/print_html_new.cgi?&USER_ID=...AK8S_14_1J

I'm probably going to stick with the Opteron I just need to know if anyone knows affordable DDR 500 - 600 range so I dont have to run a 2/1 or 2/1.66 ratio. Or do u guys think that will matter?

Either way this is the board im using along with the case. (X knows)

http://www.directron.com/tforce6100939.html

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811144109

and this heat sink combo that i already have
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835109119 (got it for $27 here)
http://www.bestbyteinc.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HSK-TRI-XP90 ( they have AMAZING SERVICE.)

thoughts?

I honestly want the 3700 withthe mutiplier of x11 but i dont want to fork out $224 because I'm getting the X800XL.

3D Mark 05' is most important at the moment I think....you did a great job Geek .. and that's with STOCK cooling :D

Although, why don't you try any readymade Water Cooling or even Nitrogen/Helium setups?

has anyone actually put some ram sinks on those mosfets? Some of the people I talked to who do are better able to oc then people who don't. I prefer copper over aluminum however to each his own.

I have been researching and found this product Swiftech MC14 BGA Memory Ramsinks. The reason being is because it's a forged cooper not aluminum which can handle heat of this nature (for mosfets) a whole lot better then just simple ram. I also notice they are usind Berquist thermal double adhesive tape which appears to be very good. Therefore, no need for an epoxy solution...

Image Shack is off line for now, I wanted to post my new benchies.

Thanks PCGEEK :)

New Scores: GPU Speed = 615MHz / GDDR3 = 1260MHz (630MHz)
3D Mark 2001 = 33,442 Points
3D Mark 2003 = 15,176 Points
3D Mark 2005 = still have errors in Win 64, but never had them before ?!?!?! Beats the crap out of me why it does not work al of a sudden. Does anybody know of a patch or something to resolve this problem?

I've seen simple Volt Mod's done with the GTO2 & it's core reached upto 800 MHz ;)
Thanks,

"ya and i lost all my memory overclock on the GPU, It just didnt cool as well."

Funny you would say that after preaching how cool the ATI card ran and were bragging on how it was all stock cooling. ;) You're such a hypocrite.

Guys,

Can we please realize that we are talking about stupid video cards and nothing more than stupid video cards? Do we ruin friendships over ridiculous tirades over dumb computer hardware? Think about it. That is getting very ugly and I really am about to quit this forum for good, or any other computer hardware forum for that matter. I want no part in the back stabbing of each other. I really hate the "yours sucks," "mine scores higher," "mine runs cooler" nonsense. It really turns me off. Oh well.

I am going to lie low for now and not participate in any controversial threads, or not participate at all.

I am really getting sick and tired of this.

Ian, by all means refuse to participate in the fanboy flame wars - but please don't leave the forums altogether. I would hate to see more competent and helpful people run off by a bunch of childish bickering.
