He's wasting his money & time overclocking a Celeron. Should've gotten a dual core or FX series or even a Prescott. Nonetheless, a great feat. :D Although I would like to see a CPU-Z verfication link just to be sure. ;)

No. I'm talking about a valid LINK from x-86secret.com.

I think you mean http://valid.x86-secret.com, but yeah.

I'm largely convinced that it's photoshopped. There's too few details for it to be legit (i.e. cooling method).

"He's wasting his money & time overclocking a Celeron"

I beg to differ Mr Calc....

The Celeron-M's are great little runners, you'll actually struggle to find better for price/performance.

Dont forget they share the same core as the Pentium-M with only a few minor differences (less cache, no speedstep technology).

David.

EDIT: That is BS, the article says Celeron-M......but the cpu-z pic says mobile celeron (northwood).....NO CHANCE!!!

In the latest post it did say that the guy used liquid nitrogen to cool the processor, which is probably the only way to acheive such speeds.

Nah, u don't *need* liquid nitrogen for that kind of speed. It's only 4ghz! And it's a mobile CPU so they're made to run cool and use little power rather than provide raw power and heat the room (like P4s).

David, how do we know that he did not Photoshop or even Paint it? I want a valid CPU-Z link....that's all I'm asking for. I don't know why you have a problem.

"I don't know why you have a problem"

I dont have a problem, you all just seemed to be bashing the Celeron-M a little too easily.

With the right cooling i think 4ghz is probably achieveable with that settup.

.........

But like i said in my edit, it looks a bit dodgy with cpu-z reporting its a mobile celeron and not a celeron-m

David.
