Ok, so I'm building a computer for my parents, who just use it for basic internet browsing and random other things, and for some reason, I decided to get them all this right here, for 500 bucks, I personally don't think it's a bad/expensive build.
I have some Corsair XMS Platinum 512 x 2 that I'm going to put in there as well, so that's why I didn't buy RAM. I know it's a socket 754, and they are getting outdated, but my parents dont need 939, especially for the difference in price.

I've already bought the parts, so suggesting new one's is out of the question, I really dislike it when people suggest new parts for someones system, after they have already got it...Just let me know what you think of this system itself..Thanks y'all

Seems ok apart from the 6600gt. GDDR2??? And you got ripped off m8!!! You would have been better advised to go for an FX series card,6200, or an x1300 or something.

OMG, Wilson that's looks like a mid-level gaming rig to me instead a rig for MS-Office, Internet etc.,

Get Socket 754 Sempron, with Kingston value ram 512MB, look for motherboard with Onboard Video RAM (UMA upto 64MB), now that's more like rig for light usage! :)

He said not to criticize the parts, he already bought them. Personally, I like the system, nice.

I don't understand why people ask hardware opinions after the kit's already been bought. Unless you're actually intending to RMA it based on comments-and since we're not allowed to suggest other bits, I guess you're not-what's the point?

Chris - I'm asking to see if what I bought, on my own, using my own knowledge, will turn out to be a pretty decent system for my parents...for the price i paid

Supreet, I guess your right, I think there might have been some underlying, "if I go home for a week, I still want to be able to play some sort of games" thoughts going through my head...That may be why it is a low/middle end gaming system..

Oh yea, it's got a WD IDE 250Gb HDD that I got off of http://www.woot.com for 49.99 one day..=)
