>> With regards options on the site, I dont want this, It causes more issues than you can imagine, With case changes, I would need to built a system builder, Because cases prices change alot, it would be up and down.

You can easily move all prices for all items to a seperate file or SQL table where everything can be called from. It'll take information from that source file or table and will tally the total cost of a system and also the choices they make. Then you could easily print it out as an invoice to include when you get it to them. I'll do that for you if you want to.

>> Personally, I find it hard to navigate, I mean, if I have to think about where to click, like puttin a puzzle together, no offense, but I wouldn't use the site. I know you have put a lot of time into, but I'm just followin the subject line.

That is what I find the most appauling about the site too.

I see what your getting at, there is text and them the item list. as the list grows, like in the GTVS computers, there are more computers which show the items quite clearly in some sort of order.

Under this, is the preview plain to the other sections that relate to your menu selection.

\carrots
Vegtables
/ pea's

if you click carrots you will see pea's on the lower menu, on the top list you will see your differnt carrots.

Carrot, orange things from the ground..( the upper part of the page)
Items list
small carrots
big carrots
funny carrots
NAVAGATION when there is a longer list that spans pages.
pea's ( main menu)

What an example to use..LOL you will see what I mean on the gtvs systems link.

I will have a go at seeing if I can make it that bit easier.

As for the option listings, this is a pain, if you can imagine laying out say 250 HHD's 20 processors, 50 Graphics cards, and 200 differnt ram modules, you can see that this soon adds up. these would all have to be updated on a daily basis.
I am sure that when you buy a PC from a store you check the prices for the hardware and work out what the charges are etc. so the prices have to be quite tight, Being international and not pre buying lots of stock allows me to get the latest price, down sometimes so it reflexts on the system prices.

At the moment, I have a list of the hardware, models,SKU and places to order them and prices so that I can check the systems are priced correctly, this can be carried out in a matter on a few minutes, where as hardware as indivdual items takes hours or days, by that time you have to start all over again

Rory, I am going to slap you if you don't re-size those damn images. They look like crap and use excess bandwidth!

You said tell it straight.

I will help you re-size all the images that need it if you want.

I was going to slim it down, but I have done that now,

Yeah if you want to make a title bar image, that would be great.. one more thing off the list ;)

Ive changed the layout of the content pages, it should be ok to nav now..

Rory, I'm talking about images like this:
http://www.gtwcmt.co.uk/gaming-computers/images/stories/Grapah...ard_lg.jpg

You should not be re-sizing it with your HTML, it should be re-sized before it is added to the server.

Yes, resampling images produces much better results than expecting the browser to stretch them.

The best way to resolve that issue is to patch into a suppliers system where it can retrieve all the price listings at the click of a button but, the easier alternative is to simply put a general figures that are just just above the price you could purchase the part for. Part prices generally only go down so you could get buy updating it far less frequently because we're only talking a buck difference here and there.

We have thought about doing the intergrating into the data bases of supliers before, the issue with that is that I us a wide range of supliers from all around the world to get the parts that I want. because they all change there prices at different times it wouldnt work to well with out writing a full programe to scan all the data and then select the lowest prices.

Prices do actually go up and well as down, I have seen prices drop alomst a grand for somethings in less than a week, I have also seen then jumping up a hudread in the same period (supply and demand)

What my intentions are, is to post messages in the shop about upgrades and there current costs. In my terms and conditions I have stated that prices and quotes are vailid for 3 hours. you will find this on most websites tucked away somewhere.

With regards images, the software for the site resizes the image, with some images, I want them to be quite large for editorials as banners and such like, I do agree that resizing the image prior to loading then ona server is the best way, its keeping track and the shear amount of files that there is.
As you will see on my wedding photography website, all the images have been built to fit size.

The odd thing is that You guy's seam to have some really big issues with the downloads of the site, When i have been out and vistied the website, there dosent seam to be any major speed issues.
There is however, one simple issue, when you post on here, a lot of people go the the links so that means that the bandwidth is used up as a lot of people hit the site at the same time. So although the site is relatively small, say 100K when you get 6 people on the site at the same time, the bandwidth is gone.

I will be going through the whole website and removing many of the old pages to slim line the website and going throught the images used in the website to check the size. there is a hugh amount of files in there even all the way back to the original website.. as I have hotlinked files from the website to other areas it has to be done with care, or the site die's

As the site as a whole, will be updated a slimmed over the next few months I am not in a major rush to do the more finer details. as I need to redirect all the old sites into the new sites.

I am going to check the textual content over the next few hours and days on the more static content as this should not needed to be rechanged for some time.
I have also got another website host, but they dont support PHP SQL which is what my site runs on.

So bringing it all down,
We are saying, sort out the images, the menu (nav) is hard to use. The banner is boring. there is gammar errors in the site
