I have been asked by someone if I could make a box with a button that plays a sound or short song. It sounds quite simple, but I can't find anything on google relating to this because I don't know whot to search for. I want to know if anyone on here knows what to call it, or where I can find a programmable 'button'. It would have to be somewhat cheap, so if it gets over about $20, I'll have to call it quits.

Ok do you mean an actual music box?
I remember a long time ago I used to dabble a bit in Phone Phreaking.
The first box I ever built was a Red Box.
Which allowed me to make free phone calls from any pay phone up until the system was upgraded.
Btw, I got most of the parts for my projects from radio shack(aka rat shack).
How does this relate to your music box you might ask?
Well it's some what related to manipulating sound so maybe you should try there.
Google it:
Phone Phreaking
2600
Box Plans
etc etc

Flash is a joke and should die out already.
You should stick with Web Standards(aka W3C world wide web consortium)
But anyways, here's a link to creating that button using javascript:

You could just get a cheap walkman.
Record a sound on a tap.
Press play.
Repeat as needed until satisfied...

Yeah this is all pretty interesting!
I'm already having ideas of violating my twisty bendy silver lamp.
I figure I could stuff all the guts into the base and wire a speaker to where the light comes out...
We'll see what my next pay check says about that?
lol
