Hi,

I have a problem with my (PCMCIA) Card Modem
installed in (Texas instrument 1130 Card bus controller)
in VERSA 6000 NEC LAP TOP Computer

Problem is..

Some time Windows detect my modem and I easily connected to internet

but some times..

Whenever I start my computer..

- There is no modem.
or
- Modem changes its com ports
or
- whenever i remove/instert modem or solt, windows unable to detect it.
or
- if Modem found and after connection from internet, again Modem disappear.

I've formatted my Hard disk and installed win 98 dozens of time but just
after new installation I am suffering with same Problem.

Can any one help me Please.

>> Re: MODEM PROBLEM
If I were you I would take the card to another lap top and try it. Then if it works fine after a few reboots, then you know its your laptop that's causing the problems. Could be a driver issue but I'm guessing its some kind of hardware problem. Pull the card out and used some compressed air to blow out the inside of the PCMCIA slot could be another thing to try too. Sometimes a bad connection will make all the difference!
