I want to see how huge this thread can get, but I'm a bit nervous that there's already a thread just like this that I just missed.

Had these threads before:

http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/38500/

amongst others, but it's always nice to get an update. Here's mine now:

http://www.chrismac50.f2s.com/pc/DSCF4437.JPG

although I'm probably going to get a new case in the next week or so, something which allows for easier upgrading (currently have to rip the whole thing apart just to change a drive, as the mobo screws directly onto the side panel).

IntelliPoint! Man, I had one of those before my G5! I hate smooth scrolling for games. I like the mousepad, though. :D

To be honest I never used the mouse wheel in games. :) I like to use "F" for next weapon in my FPS games. But I can see how it would be next to impossible to get the right weapon using this wheel.

LOL. If you've ever played Half-Life 2, recall the weapon switching interface. If not, you scroll the wheel, and up top, a menu appears, and it shows which weapon you'd switch to but how far you scroll the mouse, and then you click when the weapon you want comes up. Well, on a ratcheted mouse, one notch = one weapon. With smooth-scrolling, and of course MS's smooth scrolling, you bump, yes, just bump, the wheel, and you go forward like 5 weapons, and then you try to go back to the weapon you wanted, and GAH!!! Terrible. By the time you find the weapon you wanted, you're basically dead anyways. I will say this, it was comfy in my hand.

Yeah, I disable the mouse wheel in-game. But the truth is I enjoy it more on the desktop than I miss it in games, so it's worth it. But for any gamer that must have the mouse-wheel for in-game weapons, this is not the mouse for them. :_)

Its damn messy, but its still nice.

If you notice, the cabling looks relatively neat... until you look at it straight from the side (which you cant in my setup ;).
