With me building my dad a new computer, I have decided to sell my old socket 462 (A) setup. It consists of the following:
AMD Athlon XP 2700+
Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro 2 Rev 2
Kingston DDR333 512MB
Maxtor 20GB hdd @ 5400RPM
CD-ROM/CD-Burner (or dual CD-burners. Whatever I have lying around)
nVidia GeForce FX5200 (or my dad's FX5500. Depends on if we buy him a new one.)
The os is either going to be Windows 2000 or Windows XP. If XP, I will have whoever buys it, go out to a store and pic up a copy of Windows XP Pro. I will install Windows XP for them and get all windows updates. The rest is up to them.
What will be an option is/are: Keyboard, mouse, a 19 inch Gateway monitor (17 inch viewable), and a printer.
How much do you think I will be able to get out of that?
Thanks for the replies.

You can always build a couple of custom-built PCs and then sell them for 10% to 20% profit. Just kidding.
I think your computer might be able to get $650 max. I think that's mostly because the OS is new, the labour of installing and updating and the fact that it comes as a "full set" meaning that it comes with a printer, monitor, mouse, speakers, etc.
Ill be selling the monitor, printer, keyboard, and mouse seperate. But if the person that buys it (if at all) hasn't owned a previous computer, then they will need all that obviously. Im just hoping for enough to get a X2 4800.
Good luck, you may want to try your hand at eBay as well and see if you can somehow sell it for more. Put a sticker of Jesus on it and tell people there it's got the image of jesus on it. Maybe you could be one of those obscure people who ends up selling something thats not worth much for alot, like a piece of toast with jesus on it.
I just dont. When buying, I do not buy used parts. The parts I buy are new. I dont trust used anything. I dont sell on the internet because of situations that have happened on this site and others as well. If I can not see the person face to face, there is no sale.
I just dont trust used items. I rather buy it new and take the chance that its bad. Rather than buy a used. I dont know what sort of condition it was in before I had it in my hands. Not worth the risk IMO. People will say "Only order from the ones that have a high approval rating" or whatever. I know people that do that and still get defective items. One is on this forum. I wont mention who.
It's worth the risk when you're trying to buy a game that is next to impossible to get at decent price and eBay is the only one that sell hard to get brand new video games at low price. I always buy video games from people with at least 98 percent, normally 99% or higher. It's always best to buy it from people, not from the "store". Just buy it from there just for DVD and video games only...arts, painting, etc. Cheap, easy stuff, nothing too fancy.
Right now, my dad is currently using it. I bought him a board and my mom and I split the bill on a AMD 3200+. If we can get him a 6800GS (AGP), then instead of that FX5200, ill throw in the FX5500. But other than that, I dont have any better parts to throw into it.
