  WHATS THE DIFFERENCE?

I am looking at two new sound cards for my new build, both cards will work, so there is no problem. I am a gamer and play games such as Call of Duty 2, Battlefield 2 and 2142, and Doom3. I was looking at the :Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional, which has an Audio Core with a Sample Rate of 192KHz. The only thing is its a steep price. I then found another card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1 Channels, for a cheaper price. When compared it seems that the only difference is the sample rate in the audio core is 96KHz for the XtremeMusic and 192KHz for the Xtreme Gamer. Whats the difference between the sample rate for the cards and will the difference in quality be noticable playing a game? I am not huge on the precision of the sound, but I do want there to be sound quality. Thanks!

the Xtreme Music, altho being the lowest priced compared to the Others, Gets you the Capability to get the Drive bay extention, Produces Accurate Sound Sans the Ram, Has just about all the Capabilities of the Upper Boards. My only complaint i have about it is there is No HARDWARE MIDI Output, Only CL Synth which sounds like the Synths built into windows, Course i believe that Problem can be remied by getting the Drive bay extention which has hardware Midi.

What motherboard is in your build and does it not have onboard sound?

I mean, I always thought that unless yor going with a crazy expensive speaker set up AND your an audiophile, the onboard sound was usually good enough with most new motherboards.... In regards to playing a game that is.
