Ah, or that...but...people might delete stuff of their own they shouldn't be. I recall some debate breaking out and someone clearing every post he made. That's not exactly...right.

I've seen some sites that have a time sensitive delete function where after a certain time, like an hour, the delete option becomes disabled.

I've seen it where it can't be edited or deleted after like half an hour. That would solve the problem of posts being deleted after they have been replied to and still allow people to fix typos/double posts. A bit complex to code though.

Usually what I see is you can delete your post or edit without a "post edited" message until that post recieves a reply. After that, you can't delete it, but you can still edit, albeit with a "post edited" line. That would be nice for HWA.

Also, since it seems more and more people like to give reasons for their edits (ie. edit: i misspelled kitty), that could be integrated into the "post edited" line ...

Post Edited On: Oct 14, 2007, 01:45pm PDT (reason: i misspelled kitty)

Well, we can do a combination, perhaps? Facebook discussions have a certain time-out: you can only delete or edit your posts within a certain amount of time of posting it. After that, it's permanent.

Should be some simple PHP.

Something got messed up with the "last page" button. Whenever a thread has, for instance, 40 posts, it will set the offset to 40 when in fact, the highest offset is 39 (zero based). This means you are placed on a page that displays no responses at all and you have to go back 20 just to see what you were looking for. Use the "last page" button on a thread that has a number exactly divisible by 20 to see what I'm talking about.

The "RV670 Info" thread currently has 40 so the bug is exposed there (subject to change).

Fixed, was a silly bug. But I guess it's a feature until someone complains :)

Gateway, having been acquired by Acer (LSE: ACID) is no longer publicly traded. If you can get data from LSE, Acer would be a good replacement for it.

For the stock listings on the main page. Gateway will forever be "0.00."

I'd like to see an industry news section in the forum. somewhere we can drop in rumor control articles, edge breakthroughs that may relate to more than one sector, product recalls etc.

Fixed.

Also, looks like CDW was taken private and de-listed.
