64-bit has nothing to do with games. It has no advantages over 32-bit games.

How does your old PC even begin to do that when mine runs at 1280x1024 with no AA and medium/high settings?!

Could it be Windows Vista?

I have Vista and I have to play the game on medium settings with no AA just go get 30FPS. If I do all high settings, I get 14FPS.

Might just ditch this infernal Operating System. It's good but if it causes this kind of slowdown its ot worth it.

Crysis is amazing though even on mashed framerates.

1024x768, no AA, everything on high for me. It is playable. Wish the resolution could be higher though. Looks like a slightly blury Xbox 360 game :(

If I recall, I can do 1280x1024 with most things on high, but it is the shaders that kill me. Lets just admit it right here: The 7 Series don't have much in the way of powerful shader units :~

Well I want to give it a shot on my rig with my current setup. I've got an old school socket 939 AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ and an 8800GTS. I dunno what I'll get with that, but my future plans are to upgrade motherboard, ram, and processor once the 45nms are released.

As of now, the download is at 27%. I'll be leaving out soon... but when I get back... I can't wait!

Some diabolical planning leaves me with both XP and Vista. I'll see how it runs on XP.

A 4600+ X2 and an 8800GTS will do pretty well.

Probally not since Crash has this setup:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz
G.Skill 4GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI
OCZ GameXstream 850 Watt
BFG nVidia 8800GTS
Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer

And it plays bad on his system, but he also never said what res and idk if Donmeister has Vista or not.

It's 1:03am right now. I installed the demo, played a few minutes worth but I'm tired as heck. I'll get into it more tomorrow. I got to just after you land on the island and take out a few of those NKs. It ran well for my system I think. But I didn't max anything out. Resolution was at 1280 X 1024, most everything was medium, and antialiasing was 4x. I'll play with it some more tomorrow and see what I get. I didn't even have fraps running to get a frame rate average, but like I said, I'll get to it tomorrow. Well, technically, later today... heh...

Lemee Think a OS with alot of Overhead vs a OS with a 1/128th of the overhead of what you have eternal.

I would be supprised if the game runs on my rig even, when equipped with a 1950 pro that is.

AMD Athlon XP-M 2500+ (133x14= 1867MHz) (209x11= 2299MHz)
DFI LP NF2 Ultra-B (Hellfire 3EG Rev2)
Antec SX800, Neo HE 500, 4 Antec 8CM Fans
Thermalright SI-97 1 Antec Tricool 12CM Fan
CL SB XFi Xtreme Music
2x Barracuda HDs (250/400)
2x Samsung Write

AGP X1950pro and 1GB ram and 3.06Ghz pentium4 high settings averages about 15FPS Even if I turn the settings to all LOW more or less then same frame rate. Need a new rig to be able to play this.

I am very confused on how people with these beastly rig'd systems are having such issues with there FPS? I rarely see a bog down in FPS even at all high settings and x6aa with 1280x1024 with my old rig im on right now?

I am excited to see how my new rig performs, but considering how my current rig does it I expect a huge change mostly because CEO of Crytek said the CPU quad core takes full advantage of Crysis and if my amd 64 4000+ can do what its doing now, o man :D
