i was thinking of up dateing my motherboard as i have had this one for about 2 years now and was going to build my daughter a 64bit system as i have a spair 3500 cpu and a spair 6800gs gfx card all my system is socket 939 but now i am haveing trouble finding a motherboard i was hopping to get the ASUS A8N32-SLI DELUXE SKT 939 but cant find a site with it in stock, i do live in the UK though.
i would be very greatfull if anyone could find this board for me in stock, and i am open to any help finding another GOOD motherboard socket 939
I bought a 939 motherboard a few months ago but the supply looks like it's totally dried up. I remember having about 8 different boards to choose from but looking around the web hardly any of the online shops have them anymore.
Sometimes a local pc shop may have one sitting around that they couldnt pawn off, or they may be able to order you one from the manufacturer.

ok guys thanks for all your help i have now orderd a Asrock 939NF6G-VSTA Socket 939 Motherboard for my daughter and will fit the 3500+ on that with the 6800gs and i will just keep my system as it is in my Sig.
just a thought for the future though, what socket should i think about getting in the future?
i dont want to go with intel
You would be best off going with intel, but as you said you dont want to, Im not going to be like a fanboy and TRY and persuade you.
Would probably be best then to get a Socket AM2+ early next year. They arent too popular at the moment, and they are as rare as hens teeth in the great AU. If you dont mind holding off for a bit, the AM3 boards shouldnt be too far off.
Up to you ;P
Yeah, AM2 is nearing the end of its life as a socket. I still wish they had never created it and just stuck with 939 (which I still use). I'll just remind you that AMD has shown no signs of creating a processor that can outperform the core 2 duo, much less the core 2 quad.
All that in mind, I'd wait till socket AM3 comes out if at all possible.
