can anybody help???? I replaced the motherboard in my TOSHIBA A75 everything works fine but the battery doesn't charge now. I never had a problem with it before I replaced the board.I can take the battery out and put it back in and the charging light comes on for about 5 seconds and then goes out. Has my battery died?or is it in the board? Please helppppppppppppppppp.

does your battery have a diag ligth? is it under warrantY? if its under one year the battery will probably be covered or ull still have support.

Have u tried running the comp w/o the battery?

it will run on ac,but the battery is not charging.Just wondering how to check the battery w/o buying a new battery.trying to figure out if it is the battery or a bad connection in the board from the power supply to the battery charge.thank you for your response.

If you go into the bios there might be an option for 'battery calibration'. This should discharge then fully charge the battery and should let the battery charge normally after you've run it. I did this on my toshiba laptops that had the same symptoms and it fixed it so it could be worth a try.

Right after you turn on the computer, start pressing F2 and Delete. It is most likely delete but all motherboard manufacturers use a different key. You may have to check the manual.

By the way, how old is this battery? Batteries do lose their capacity to store power over time (a few years).

If I remember what I forgot, I have not forgotten it.
